So it has been a very long while. Life is pretty ok lately. I got a freelance writing job for a website (www.baltimoremetromix.com) that is owned by the Sun, or the company that owns them. I am pretty stoked about that, I haven’t started yet; I just sent them my paperwork the other day. I am still professionally proofreading documents at SAIC. I am still awesome at soccer, and went and saw Saves the Day twice this spring and I still think they rule. My stupid car has been costing me a lot of $$. So nothing has really changed.

How 'bout that Office season finale? I like honest Pam, I should be more like that sometimes.

Baseball has started and I have already attended quite a few games. I got my Cal Ripken 1983 World Series Bobblehead at the game the other day, which automatically made my life better. There is no feeling like going to a baseball game, but there is also no feeling like going to a hockey game, which I already miss.

The Ducks were awarded the coveted Stanley Cup last week, which officially ended hockey season (thought mine was pretty much done in April when the Devils got eliminated).

This season was pretty awesome. I watched almost every Devils game, thanks to Center Ice (which was pretty much the best thing that ever happened to me. I kept my goal of going to a game once ever 2 weeks (until the playoffs hit) and had many memorable moments.

*Marty Brodeur’s season was spectacular, especially the first half. Seeing him break Parent’s (of the Flyers’ cup winning teams) record for most wins in a season was awesome (though it is a bit tainted), and even better that he did it against the Flyers and in Philly.

*The Flyers were the worst team in the NHL.

*I went to my first opening game ever, it wasn’t for the Devils or Caps, but there are very few places that are as hockey-centric as Philadelphia (because it means more there), and it was a great way to ring in the official start of hockey. And I am pretty sure I hate the Rangers just as much as Flyers fans. I also got to see one of the longest shootouts ever.

*I saw a lot of player’s first goals, most of them Caps, but the most important one was Cam Janssen’s goal, and it only took him 160 NHL games (he is a fighter, so it is kind of ok it took him so long). I still enjoy watching the magic happen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlfAfSo97DY&mode=related&search=). Chico’s reaction is priceless.

*I got to attend the Caps Season Ticket holder event (thanks to my buddy Matthew) and I got to meet Olie, the one and only Brashear, Sutherby (and his magnificent hair), and some other Caps that aren’t as important. I also go to meet half of the best hockey broadcasting duo, Joe B. I still haven’t recovered from not meeting Locker. :(

*I went to a lot of games with my Dad, which never gets old.

*Zach Parise had a breakout season (which I called in September); he was outstanding and will only get better.

*Alexander Semin...need I say more?

*Hands down the best thing about this season was going to Madison Square Garden with Kyle for the Devils vs. the Rangers. It was one of the best gifts I ever received and it was so much fun (even though I feared for my life at times). I will forever have the moment when the whole arena was chanting “King Henry” and he bobbled the shot from Langenbrunner during the 4th round of the SO and the puck went into the net engraved in my mind. It was an amazing win by the Devils, and I even got Kyle in a Devils jersey. :)

The NHL awards are Thursday, hopefully the Devils will clean up and Marty will in his 4th Vezina and his 1st Hart and Pando wins his 1st Selke.

I should try to update this more, but I probably won't.
