Three essay plans down!
So it's 12:51AM as I write this (no doubt I'll post this some other time) and my family and I have been on the karaoke for an hour. Only Filipinos, man.
Dad wants me to sing a Filipino song (Ewan by Apo Hiking Society, Janella?) at the December party. IS HE INSANE? I can't perform in Tagalog! Everyone knows how it should sound so I sound ridiculous. (That's pretty much the only reason I can sing in Japanese. No one I know speaks it, and Jorelle's family didn't mention anything.) Nooooooo.
It's kind of embarrassing how much I enjoy choir practice. Even though sometimes, like today, it means I'm at school on a Sunday, and in a hall that's depressingly set up for exams.
Trying to RP, write (I've gotten behind on le NaNo), and bullet point up an essay is somewhat difficult. But at least I've mostly gotten through the hard part of the RP scene (I totally can't write someone getting picked up) and I've hit the fun part where I get to make my poor Australian say things like "I'm stupid on foreign public transport" because he can't speak Japanese. Yus. And hell, we've even managed to set up a bit of an NPC OTP.
End of Doctor Who, what the hell! That telepathy thing (please, I'm sure everyone's seen it by now) was like something out of Deathly Hallows! Although I laughed so hard at Jack. God I love that guy.
I am going to list ten statements about myself. Five are true, five are false. Try and guess which ones are which.
01) I used to hate Digimon.
True: I was a diehard Pokemon fan and declared without having ever seen Digimon that it was a cheap ripoff and sucked. Then I gave it a chance. ^^;
02) I can say/respond more in Tagalog than I can in French.
False: Though I can understand Tagalog better than French, I respond in English. I can only say four full sentences in Tagalog: Mabuhay ang keso ("long live the cheese"), ang pangit ang nanay mo ("your mother is ugly"), hina-hanap ka si Immigracion ("Immigration is looking for you"), and ay! manok! ("AHHHHH! Chicken!"). On the other hand, I've been known to hold at least the start of conversations in French and correctly answer a question in French even though I had little idea what it meant at the time.
03) I've resorted to McDonalds in the job hunt.
True: They didn't have hours for me.
04) I don't actually really like Wheel of Time.
True: What am I doing on Tar Valon.net?
05) Now that I have a phone that can cope with mp3s, my ringtone is Gabriella's from High School Musical.
False: Hell no, why would I do that to myself? If I was going to have an HSM ringtone, it'd be rehearsal!Bop to the Top. I've been toying with the idea of using "Ring ring ring, ring ring ring! Phonecall! Phonecall!" from the second episode of Pokemon, but ultimately it would be of no use whatsoever - my phone is perpetually on vibrate for txt and beep once for a phonecall. (Yes, this means I miss half my calls.)
06) I Slytherpushed at hogwarts_elite.
False: I'm kind of upset everyone thinks I did :P I applied thinking I'd probably hit Gryffindor. Boy, was I shocked.
07) The only onstage role I've ever wanted and gotten is Mary in the Christmas pageant.
True: Mary was the height of my theatrical ambition for years, I just had to wait until I was old enough. By the time I was, they'd started making everyone younger and younger because no one past Year 6 was doing the pageant, but they all knew how long I'd been holding out for her. (I wanted to be an American soldier in 1945, a skater or a thesp in HSM because I knew Sharps and Gab weren't going to happen, I can't think of any other shows right now.)
08) I've never had an anime haircut.
False: I'm amazed people actually thought this was true. I used to have Ken Ichijouji's reverse mullet when I was, like, ten. (Then I got over it and got Josie (of the Pussycats)'s haircut instead. This one didn't go so well because of my hair's perrenial problems with gel.)
09) I speak a little Spanish.
False: What I know from Dora the Explorer doesn't count. I'm sure it's my username on LJ and MSN that makes people assume I do. I wish it didn't, because it means I get the odd Spanish-speaking random adding me on MSN and then talking to me on Spanish and I'm like "me no habla Espanol and WHO ARE YOU". I haven't changed my MSN to my GMail mostly because I can't be bothered, but I really would buy a rename token if I could.
10) Dumbledore is gay If I could have, I would have auditioned for Search for the Next Doll.
True: JKR outed him. True: They're my ultimate guilty pleasure band and I can sing better than half the girls in there, damnit. (...that sounded so conceited but we all know only about three of them sing.)
