2.) The rest of this part of the world had already reached similar if not identical predictions on the rugby world cup, only everyone thought that France would win their pool.

Hold on, I lie. Many people thought Ireland would come second place to France, and Argentina wouldn't reach the quarters. But that, I think, is purely because Argentina is pretty unknown (compared to Ireland, at least) in the rugby world.
