Happy birthday, Abby! A day late but at least I think it's still your birthday where you are?

This week's been way too long. I keep feeling like it should be week two at the very least, week three at most, but no, it's still first week. Thank god for the weekend. And Harry Potter day!! Spoilers behind cut kplz, I'll do the same.

It's been a good week, though. In Latin, Mrs. Mackenzie's away so we've usually had Mr. Maskill, who seems politely bemused by the social-ness of our class. Our plans to implement Rachel and Anna's beautiful timetable for food in Latin all week round (instead of just Cake Monday) have failed though, and my Latin buddy Genevieve is tragically away in Rarotonga so I've been forced to rely on a paper substitute of her all week. At least Mr. Maskill doesn't mind us sitting on the floor for no apparent reason, or my "IT'S POKEMON TIME!!" once I've finished my vocab stuff for the day. (Yes, I yell that out and whip out my GameBoy Advance. For that matter, I've also been managing to play it in psychology - no major feat there actually - and today, assembly.)

I miraculously finished my music essay that I put off all holidays in three days. I don't know what happened and I feel that the speed at which I pulled it off must be an indicator that it's crap and I'm going to fail. Which would be a shame, seeing as it must have been around three thousand seven hundred words. I never write this much for any other subjects. On the composition side, my first composition with various ostinati before I ran out of ideas and decided to put it aside for wordsetting is apparently at Achieved level once I shove in dynamics and articulation. :O (What a pity it's strings, though, I find articulating for wind much easier, which is a bit retarded as I can't play any.) I've been told to scrap my current wordsetting (one of my songs) and start a new one with someone else's poem. :|

So I've decided to turn this to my advantage and set one of the poems we're studying in English! I'm a GENIUS. It'll probably be either Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy or A Message or Knifeplay by Fleur Adcock. A Message and Valentine are what I usually what I write about because I like those happy(ish in the case of Adcock) love poems and take Adcock's other poems too personally, but Knifeplay seems more songy. Don't know how. Maybe it's the visual rhymes. And I'm reeeeally tempted to do it for SSAA + piano for the hell of it.

I'm really excited about my photography folio! The vast majority of the shots came out really well, and Chris and Nicola, my darling models, don't look awkward together at all. ♥ Tejal has been rambling at me about how into each other they look and how much one shot in particular looks like a movie and she's even been coming up with a plot which joins several of the shots that were them being more natural while I mucked around with my camera in a tree, the shot that was meant to be all "I feel like we're being watched", and the random "WTF do I do with this?" shot of Chris' jacket. :| I have scanned in my first film proofsheet at an obnoxiously high resolution, have plans to do the same for my second film, and may scan some of the better (read: and cuter!) photos if I feel so motivated.

Yes, I really have no life outside of school.
Thanks, Johanna's Photobucket! Although I have to say that Misty, my Castform, fricking swept a Beauty contest at Master rank, baby last night, and it was amazing. I was so proud. And Sue, my Swellow (don't ask me how I came up with the name, it was something long and involved going through Marty Stu and Mary Sue and what?), also swept Master rank in the Coolness contest, finally. :D So now there are paintings of them in the Lilycove Museum and I am so. damn. proud. :D

And can I just say that I freaking love the new Campbell Live ad (geeze, get a Coll uniform involved and I'm hooked) and I am apalled by the fact that Matt is in the Pop's finale. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN EMILY.
