The gala concert was lots of fun

I swear about half the highschool-age cast of HSM was there, which was amusing - nothing quite like yelling across Town Hall at people you think you recognize (thank god it did turn out to be Jared). And the performances were great! Points of amusement, without going through the entire programme:
  • Tawa's Dawn Chorus merely stood up and everyone was like "whoaaaaaa." This is what you get when you have a ginormous choir. :D
  • All of the St. Mary's choirs mysteriously improved overnight!
  • Sacred Heart doing BoRhap - needed a band, really. :( And more harmonies. Not impressed with the arrangement.
  • I can't remember what school this was, but there was a girl who was in two choirs on in a row, and stayed on stage while the rest of her choir left. Looked like she was going to do a solo, so everyone clapped. The poor girl got embarrassed and went off stage. XD
  • Thank god Exalted did their director's composition again because it was still beautiful.
  • Aotea impresses me every year. Also, we had fun pointing out Jared as the token white guy, the grand total of six white girls, and we decided to name the girl on crutches the token cripple.

It's great to be back at dancing. :) Except that I always seem to return to dance class in medal season and have little clue what's going on. If it's not too late to register I think I might do Silver Ballroom (and therefore Bronze) for the hell of it. Go learning four dances in three weeks! Might have problems with the foot work though. I'm still outrageously unconfident in heels so my heel leads are wobbly. It doesn't help that I hadn't been in my shoes for about a month.

Went out to Johnsonville Mall for lunch today. Came back with Stereophonics' Live From Dakota for $15! Dad almost didn't get it for me but then he realized it was a double CD.

New Zealand Music Month T-shirts are on sale for $15 now that it's not May any more, so I asked Dad if I could get one.
Dad: "I'll buy you something else."
Me: "But it wouldn't be supporting New Zealand music, and it needs all the help it can get!"

This evening we watched Pokemon: Battle Frontier for an hour. I knew Ash had a new voice actor but I didn't realize just how different he sounded - in Mom's words, "Ash sounds like a boy". So I guess his voice broke. B) Actually it's kinda hot. And I was far too amused by correctly guessing that the androgynous Annabel was in fact a girl, when no one on the show did.

Ooh, and I got my new recycled refurbished Palm Pilot! The really exciting thing is that now I can actually transfer photos/media. :O
