Friday (ie. today)
Took the day off. I pleaded weirdnotperiod crampthings, which I really do have, but they're not actually bad enough to justify a day off school. It's more a mental health day than anything else. I just didn't feel like going to school and acting happy when I'm not. I'm kinda guilty about wagging, there was badminton and I kind of had the 'cocks sitting around at home with me. (I wonder if the reason why college sports are single-sex is because there would be way too many jokes about cocks at co-ed badminton?)
Txt from Lydia: Car, wer r u?!? If ur sick nd on da verge of death, cn i hav ur laptop? ....(nah just jokin)
Thursday
I got yelled at to go finish my dinner and when I came out again I was completely ignored in lieu of Stargate: Atlantis. It's really hard trying to cry and eat at the same time, I don't recommend it.
Parents bought me a school jacket. Only I couldn't tell it was the school jacket and was asking about it; and Dad's just like "try it on, over the blazer"; and I said I probably wouldn't wear it over my blazer anyway; and then he starts laying into me about how crappy my attitude is; so when I left to go leave my jacket/blazer in my room, I stayed there. (I heard him ranting on about it a bit more, my attitude was crappy since I got home, and Mom was like "she was crying in the car".)
Was indeed crying in the car on the way home from dancing. When I paid up for my three weeks and was like "right, I'm leaving now, for good like" the guy started going on about how talented I am and how much potential I have and it'd be a shame to waste it ;_; it's actually the first time someone whose opinion I trust told me I'm good at dancing. I was walking down the Terrace practically in tears.
There's this teenagers' writing contest or something called
Re-Draft, and they publish the winners in a book; I found last year's one,
Cupid on a Friday Night and OMG there's a poem by someone I know in it =O Talya (but we call her T Dot because it is her nickname and we already have a Talia and it gets confusing), this Year 10 I know from choir, she was one of our first Year 9 friends last year. And apparently also some girl I went to Playcentre with and did ballet with YONKS ago, Chloe Sutherland. Trippy.
So now I'm determined to enter something. My main issue with it is that it has to be something that hasn't been published elsewhere, including the Internet, and I tend to put my best (HA what is my best, I write so little lately that everything I finish goes up there) stuff up in
Spiral Unbound =/ so I have to write something else (or up to three somethings else) by September 30th. Lots of time but I can see myself forgetting. A shame, though, if anything I'd kind of like to enter
When Lightning Strikes.
I found
Alex: The Spirit of a Champion on DVD, YUS! Have not watched it yet but think it will be very good, I had a flick through the "making of" book as well. And I got out the screenplay of Looking for Alibrandi. Brilliant, I am a sucker for books made into movies. Of all the types of movie to be a sucker for, it's adaptations...
Chris and
Jen's mum called my parents draconian, which I thought was the most brilliant description of my parents ever. It's a lot more eloquent than
Sophie's parents' "they're batshit insane".
Science
Ms. Evans: "What I didn't realize is that some of you have been friends since you were FIVE YEARS OLD and talk ALL THE TIME...I might have to move you!"
Catherine: "But I love my five-year-old friends!"
Catherine: "I came, I saw, I bought the goddamn Twink."
Rebecca: "There's a hair on there (the OHT), take it off."
Catherine: "Ew, get it off!"
Caryl [sarcastic]: "OMIGOD!"
Catherine: "Caryl, you are such a drama queen."
Ms. Evans: "Do you want to learn this, or just hassle me?!"
11SC EV: "Hassle you!"
Catherine: "What kind of a question is that?"
Recorded
Home for music. It kinda sucked. I was meant to record the second half (bridge, chorus repeats, repetitions) today but that obviously didn't happen. Monday, maybe.
Wednesday
Attempted to play
Regret (When I'm With You) on the piano. I can't compose for instruments for crap! X_X
Afterschool
Johanna: "And she's like, 'this is starting to sound REALLY dodgy', considering this was after 'so Caryl was lying on top of you??'"
We finally did that graphs test in math. I pretty much gave up on the Excellence questions (despite my best efforts to remember Chris' ramblings on on my homework) and practically started dozing off and hallucinating. I really shouldn't pick the sunny seats in tests.
At lunchtime me, Sophie, Talia, and
Inari auditioned for the school production. Arabian Nights this year, this very odd version where the characters start talking about themselves in third person...we heard a bit of "mutter mutter Talia very good mutter mutter" as we left, heheh.
Music class
Regina and Inari are looking through the photos on Caryl's Palm Pilot.
Regina/Inari: "Awwwww! Awwwww! AWWWWW! Awwwww! Awwwww!"
Caryl: "ARGH!"
Sarah-Jane: "Oh my GOD, just SHUT UP!"
The photo of Talia pops up.
Regina/Inari: "Awww!"
Talia: "EEK, that's not me!"
And a photo of Chris.
Inari: "AWWWWW!"
Regina: "Ahaha, wait till you see
the retarded photo..."
Tuesday
Youth Forum at Rangers!! SO much fun. Once the girls got there, I went into full "MY BEST FRIEND IS DEAD!" hyperventilation mode, breathing hard and fast to the extent that I actually started coughing because I couldn't properly breathe rather than for the effect. There were all these girls standing round going "is she really dead?" for ages and Johanna couldn't keep a straight face and freakin' smiled while I was just like [SOBS!] and refusing to leave her when girls were trying to get me away from her to try and calm down. Heartbreaking, if I say so myself. And I had this fantastic moment where I looked up for just a moment and yelled, "Why are you all just STANDING AROUND, my best friend is DEAD and YOU'RE NOT DOING ANYTHING." It was good fun =D forgot how much I liked improv acting.
It took so long for people to get there! Three of us were just lying around on the concrete for like half an hour (the other three were in the car, I'd been in the car but had crawled out realizing who we'd hit), though it was worse for
Johanna and Iona than me cos they had sleeves rolled up for fake blood on arms, although I suppose Johanna had me for a blanket lol.
The crash was awesome, it looked so realistic with two of our girls just under the car and everyone with fake blood that a few cars actually came by and asked if we were okay, did we need help, and we had to explain we were staging it, we're fine really, us with fake blood on our heads and looking anything but fine -_-
Math class
Ms. Pickering: "Do you remember why you would choose to use a histogram rather than a bar graph?"
Caryl: "If you don't have enough paper?"
Ms. Pickering: "Come on, with this kind of data, why would you use a histogram?"
Nicole: "To save paper?"
Music class
Caryl: "Back in my day..."
Essen: "Caryl, can I call you Lola?"
Caryl: "NO!"
Regina: "WHAT?"
Essen: "It's Tagalog for Grandma..."
Monday
Mum went to parent-teacher interviews with Ms. Pickering (math) and Ms. Evans (science). Ms. Pickering said I'm near the top of the class, just two above me :O and I'm doing very well, she just wishes I'd do more Excellence questions. (I totally do Excellence questions! By which I mean stare at them for a while.) Ms. Evans LOVES ME and was still very impressed by
The Ballad of Meningitis and apparently I AM top of the class :O :O :O
Our carriage on the train got invaded by this mob of QMC turds. Chris grabbed the last remaining seat, I sat on him, we just started going "hey, how are you" to each other, and the turds were so disturbed by this public display of common courtesy they left. XD Hilarious.
I decided that boys are the best form of defence against the cold (was clinging on to Chris most of the afternoon and was so much warmer than without), males radiate heat, and females absorb it. Further supported by Chris' "Faye and Tamarah are as cold as iceblocks :|"
After a mere glimpse of Chris, Caryl breaks from the Penguin Brigade to GLOMP him and bury her face in his jacket.
Caryl: "SOMEONE WARM!!!!!"
Chris: "Hello." :)
SophieIthink: "Join our huddle, YOU ARE WARM!"
Caryl: [clings]
Johanna: "Yes, you RADIATE heat!"
Chris: "I think it's the jacket..."
Caryl: [takes one end of her scarf and wraps it round Chris' neck]
Chris: "I like scarves."
Math class
Caryl: "YUS!"
Ms. Pickering: "Is that a hand up?"
Caryl: "No, just having an epiphany...!" :D
Ms. Pickering: "Oh, carry on then!" :D
Some parts of this entry were cut and pasted from an e-mail to
