You say that you don't think you could be that close to someone again, but I don't think that it's a choice we get to make. We don't get to choose who we love (I have an argument for that, but this is neither the time or the place). And, yeah, you probably will feel suspicious at first, will this one go down the pan like before? But that's a chance that you have to take, love means trust and you have to trust that person not to hurt you, to put that mark on your heart (trust is a word all lovers know, the glorious art of staining souls...) of course, for you at the moment, Heartache Every Moment is more appropriate...
My point is, love risks loss, risks heartbreak and the better the feeling, the stronger it is and the better you fit together, the greater the pain if it does go down the crapper. But what if it doesn't? You can't base everything on a handful of relationships at the beginning of your life. To fear forever means to never experience that happiness, that love, passion again and that's just not living (what's the point in living if you can't feel alive?)
I guess the best way to end is another quote. 'It hurts sometimes, more than we can bare. If we could learn to live without pasion than maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we'd be hollow. Empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion, we'd be truly dead.'
