Jun sent Nino a look.
Tap-tap-tap.
Tap-tap.
“Stop it,” Jun said, taking the pen from Nino’s hand. He probably knew better than to hope Nino would simply stop when he got like this.
Tap, did Nino’s fingers against the tabletop, but Jun didn’t react. Game was over then, Nino would need a new one.
A glance at the clock let him know the others were twenty-one minute and thirty-six seconds late. Thirty-seven. Thirty-eight.
Nino kicked at the legs of Jun’s chair.
“Will you just…” Jun began, but was interrupted by the sound of his phone vibrating on the table. He sent Nino a look, then answered the call while Nino leaned back in his chair and stared up at the ceiling.
“I see,” Jun said into the phone. “ Twenty minutes, okay. We’ll be here.”
“Twenty minutes,” Jun repeated to Nino.
“I see,” Nino said, balancing on the two back legs of his chair.
Jun put his phone back down on the table and flipped a page of his magazine. Nino dropped back onto the chair’s four legs and leaned against the table, fingers skating soothing over the surface towards Jun.
Tap-tap.
“My DS is in my bag. Just take it, okay?”
