I went home late today. I thought I was getting out early but a couple of things happened. First, my IV line started burning every time it was flushed. Then it started burning anytime there was something going through the line. I had to ice the area every time it was in use and eventually I asked the nurse to remove it. I'm responding very well to IV antibiotics (ampicillin & sulbactam) and my neck looks so much better. I did have an incident this morning where while I was sleeping, my heart decided to skip 20 beats in a row and apparently, I have no recollection of a nurse coming in to check if I was alright, this is what I was told after I woke up. I'm in the hospital for a little while due to a nasty skin infection that did not get any better on oral antibiotics. I developed a fever and thought it would be best to go to the ER. I got admitted, had one round of vancomycin, found out I was allergic, and then switched to another kind of IV antibiotic called Unisyn. I've gotten maybe 6 bags of ( Read more... )
