Weirdly, them separating, that didn't break my heart as much as the betrayal and loss of faith in the first place. I just see the separation, Sam acknowledging he has a problem and Dean agreeing he's having a tough time of it all, as the first steps of them getting back to being brothers.
I think that they'll be slammed back together soon enough, probably before they're ready, just because fate drives them to the same place.
I personally am hoping (because I'm mean) that the demons try to use Dean as bait to lure Sam in and he manages to resist the blood and save Dean his own way with help from people like Ellen and Jo and Rufus... and then Dean of course can go and save the world... with his brother at his side. \o/
But Kripke will do something more awesome, I'm sure. :)
I do wonder what Ellen would do if she knew Sam's secret. I mean she knows about the way Mary died and that Sam was chosen by demons and had visions...but if she knew about the demon blood and the opening the door for Lucifer, would she still manage to keep loving him like Bobby has? I do hope so. I hope it gets covered. I sorta see Ellen and Bobby as their surrogate parents. Jo as their sister and if they could all fight together again, I'd be in SPN heaven. \o/
