o1. Can I just say that I am SO excited for the new seasons of Skins and Lost. I may burst. Seriously.
TV has been keeping me sane this week since work has been so crazy.
Oh and in other news, this weekend I'm going to see Zack Morris in a play. OH YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT. The 7 year old in me is dying.
o2. Current TV talk!
How I Met Your Mother
+ I enjoyed this episode a lot! And I'm so thankful I can say that because I really haven't been loving the show for the past few months, and that was just painful. It has been my favorite for so long!
I think it just felt like the first time I could really just let go of all of my negative feelings about it. I'm still annoyed by certain things but I guess it just matters less now. And I love and adore this cast too much to stay mad at the show for too long.
BARNEY/MARSHALL SCENES ARE MY FAVORITE
HAHA I ADORE HER
HOW CUTE ARE TED/SUMMER?
I do feel a little sad now that she's not the mother. And also, I feel like they made the mother less appealing by bringing in the whole "EVERYONE FALLS IN LOVE WITH HER" thing. lol I just find that annoying. And guys always fall in love with her over Rachel Bilson?? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! I mean, maybe once that could happen but all the time? I almost don't want to meet the mother because she'll never live up to these crazy expectations.
Also...
lol of course Tim Gunn is Barney's tailor! I should ask my friend Renee about that. She's kind of-sort of friends with him. She's been to his office just for career advice because she met him through a work thing!
The Big Bang Theory
+ I enjoyed this ep. Well, the Sheldon/Raj part at least. I always love when they have scenes together. AND WINNIE COOPER, OMG! I love her so much. I love that IRL not only is she ridiculously pretty but she's legitimately a genius.
haha and poor girl who wanted to sleep with Sheldon! I understand her pain.
+ Why are Leonard and Penny still together? And if the writers want you to like them why do they write them this way? sigh.
In related news
this episode sounds amazing!
(The link includes vague spoilers from a taping report)
Chuck
+ OMG I LOVE ELLIE/AWESOME SO MUCH IT'S RIDIC
!!!
AWESOME HAS TO BE ALIVE BECAUSE HE'S AWESOME AND THAT'S THAT
+ I really like that Chuck/Sarah decided to work on being "friends". It might seem like less of a "cover" and be just about them for once, which actually will be a refreshing change.
o3. I've finally reached the last season in my Buffy re-watch. This has been going on for almost a year now, I can't believe it's almost over!
Last night I watched 7.02 (which I'm sure I haven't seen since it originally aired) and the last scene just completely knocked the wind out of me. And when that happens I need to picspam.
And really, who would have thought in 1992 when the Buffy movie came out (with Dylan Mckay, lol!) that eventually it would somehow evolve into something like this...
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Buffy: This is all you get. I'm listening. Tell me what happened.
Spike: I tried to find it, of course.
Buffy: Find what?
Spike: The spark. The missing..the piece. That fit. That would make me fit. Because you didn't want...god, I can't. Not with you looking.
(He stands up and moves off into the shadows.)
Spike: I dreamed of killing you.
(Buffy bends down and picks up a splintered piece of wood and wields it as a stake.)
Spike: I think they were dreams. So weak. Did you make me weak? Thinking of you, holding myself and spilling useless buckets of salt over your...ending. Angel, he should have warned me. He makes a good show of forgetting, but it's here, in me...all the time. The spark. I wanted to give you what you deserve. And I got it. They put the spark in me...and now all it does is burn.
Buffy: Your soul...
Spike: A bit worse for lack of use.
Buffy: You got your soul back. How?
Spike: It's what you wanted, right? (looks up) It's what YOU wanted, right?
(Spike puts his hands to his head and winces.)
Spike: And now everybody's in here, talking. Everything I did, everyone I...and him. And it...the other. The thing beneath...beneath you. It's here, too. Everybody. They all just tell me go. Go...to hell..
Buffy: Why? Why would you do that?
Spike: Buffy, shame on you. Why does a man do what he mustn't? For her. To be hers. To be the kind of man who would nev...(beat) To be a kind of man.
(Spike approaches the large cross standing at the head of the chapel.)
Spike: And she shall look on him with forgiveness and everybody will forgive and love...and he will be loved. So everything's okay, right? Can we rest now? Buffy, can we rest?
AH THIS SCENE! I think the part that gets to the most is when he says:
"To be the kind of man who would nev...to be a kind of man."
Just simply to be a a man period. Not just not a bad one, or not an evil one, but just to be a person...kind of.
