I'm not saying this makes what happened to Lafayette "ok". That would be insane. But you can't really hate on Eric for it without hating on literally every single vampire on the show.

I took Eric's reaction to Bill's threat as more of an attempt to fuck with Bill and give him a sense that he had some sort of upper hand which he does not. I don't think Eric would do something like that without the Queen's approval. I just think Bill's not supposed to know about it because he is a douche and can't be trusted not to blab everything in some lame attempt to impress his Sookeh. I have read speculation that it's Eric blood that Lafayette is using so he can easily track down all the offenders/recruit them as minions for his vampire takeover of the world.

I actually got the quote from a comment on ohnotheydidnt and that person said they got it from an interview found on true-blood.net. I actually didn't track down the interview myself, haha. But I probably should.
