Haha, I caught up on all four episodes last night right in a row, twas very fun.

Though I gotta say, whatever Maryann's deal is, I would like to know, 'cause it's weird as hell and starting to annoy me.

I'm sure you already know from the books... which, btw I avoided your summaries just because I might want to read them someday, though I know several people have told me how they differ from the series quite a bit.

And Eric/Sookie? Yes PLZ. I'm not too much a fan of Bill, sometimes I like him, but most of the time he's just there. Took me forever to warm up to him in the first season, it wasn't until the end I was even really interested.

I love Sam on the other hand, but I have a feeling there going to make him to do stupid things this season that are going to make me want to smack him upside the head.

Oh, and Jessica/Hoyt ftw, LOL! ;P

And am I the only one to see Jason bang the preacher's wife? ;D C'mon, Jason, Jesus wouldn't mind, it's what you're best at, lmao.

I do know what Maryanne's deal is from the books. That's one of the things I'm glad about because I feel like they're going way too slowly with it and I would be annoyed if I didn't already know. And Daphne too. She's not in the books so I have no clue what's up with her.

They do differ from the series, but personally so far I've felt like the main essence is the same so the changes haven't bothered me (maybe only 1 or 2 have slightly). The changes are more just because the books are told from Sookie's POV. She's the narrator so she's always thereIn the show you get to learn a lot about other characters that had much more minor parts in the book. Like for example, Jason is barely in book 2 at all so they had to figure out a way to incorporate him into this season. So I guess they were like "LOL JASON IS DUMB ENOUGH TO BE IN THE CULT, LETS HAVE HIM DO THAT!" And then it makes the fellowship of the sun storyline more personal for Sookie too ( ... )

I don't know if I ever mentioned this, but your post couldn't have come at a better time, because just before this I had watched all there is so far of season 2.

Yea, it's alright, you get used to it with these kinds of shows, as far as plot is concerned. Yea, and the way they structure the show... I feel that often, hardly anything is a coincidence. It feels like a well-used tool in TV story arcs that is familiar to me. They introduce something new, make you think it's innocuous, when it's not, and then BAM! It's important. And for me, that's Daphne. I don't what her deal is either, but I'd like to find out, just like with Maryann.

LOL JASON IS DUMB ENOUGH TO BE IN THE CULT, LETS HAVE HIM DO THAT!" And then it makes the fellowship of the sun storyline more personal for Sookie too. ROFL, agreed, and plot-wise, that makes sense to me as well ( ... )

Well, they at least partially told you what Maryanne was at the end of the last episode because they showed her arms transform into the maenad that attacked Sookie. So at least we're getting there!
And Daphne has scratches on her back so maybe she was attacked by the maenad too? She's probably something supernatural herself because of that and because she apparently knows that Sam is shifter.

Eric seems to be so selfish that the only way Sookie would entertain the notion of being with him is if he changed
It's interesting that you phrased it that way. I won't tell you what happens but...it's a bit complicated. He both changes and doesn't change at the same time. I guarantee it's not what you expect though.

Even though Eric is a selfish bastard he also has this whole other side to him that we really haven't seen at all yet (that's not because the show changed anything, in the book series you just don't see that side of him until later too). He can actually be really sweet sometimes. I'd say Eric is more "girly" about ( ... )

Yes, agreed. And by now we've both seen the next episode, but I haven't read your comments on the episode yet.

Yes, so now we know that she is whatever attacked Sookie, unless there's more than one of them running around. I thought maybe Daphne was in league with her, since she had those same scratches, but now we know she's a shapeshifter. Doesn't mean there isn't still something going on there. And OMG. Shapeshifters run a little hotter than most? You know I thought the Bill/Sookie/Sam love triangle was quite enough, but seriously? The Twilight part of my brain can't help but make the connections, lol. Aha! See I didn't know Maryann was a maenad, but it was one of my theories! *feels so smart* The way all those people were acting at the party, it reminded me of The Bacchae when I read it... also the way she was dressed at Tara's birthday party, she looked like a Greek goddess, she had that painting of Hermes, and Sookie heard heard speaking what I thought may have been Ancient Greek (or some kind of ancient language) in ( ... )

I thought that the scratches meant that Daphne was just attacked by Maryanne just like Sookie was. And I guess she survived because she was a shifter? They heal more quickly too. Not quite as fast as vamps, but still much faster than regular humans.

And the warm thing isn't really like a Twilight thing, haha. It's just a general werewolf thing. Just like Vampires being kind of cold and not being able to be in direct sunlight is general vampire knowledge.

This is awesome that you picked up on that! haha, kind of like Sookie in the actual book except you're being actually smart about it:

"'Why a maenad?' I asked, startling all of them. I hoped I was pronouncing the word correctly. 'Naiads are water and dryads are trees, right? So why a maenad, out there in the woods? Weren't maenads just women driven mad by the god Bacchus ( ... )

Yes, that would make sense. If she's a shifter, and that way she would've been able to recover from the poison on her own too. I just thought it was somewhat odd that she hadn't mentioned being attacked by such a thing yet. I mean, on the one hand, she may believe it's not so unusual because she is also part of the supernatural realm given what she is, and things like that can happen, but it still seems weird to me. I guess I'd really like Sam to ask, since he's now seen the several times, and he's a shifter too, so she wouldn't have to feel odd telling him. I'm just also unsure of how fast she's gravitated towards him. It's one of those annoying facets of multiple character/plot lines... if everyone just sat down and shared what they knew (like if Sam had mentioned any of this to Sookie or Tara), they would be able to figure it all out, lol. But then, that wouldn't be any fun now would it? Then again, the writers have got it such a way that Sam's not on very good speaking terms with either of them.

And the warm thing isn't ( ... )

Maryann was trying to tell Eric that he needed to make her an offering? Is that sounding familiar?
It does. I think I just forgot because it was really only talked about in like 1 paragraph. I think Sookie was just attacked to introduce the whole maenad storyline which comes into play at the end of the book. Her attack honestly doesn't relate that much to the overall story. But in the show it might and I hope it does. Because Sookie being attacked was such a big deal that it sucks that it was so unimportant overall.

You know what the funny thing is? If someone gave me the choice of who to go into a supernatural battle with, Bill or Sookie...I might choose Sookie. LOL NO JOKE! That girl is fierce. If I listed the amount of BAMF things she's done (I mean in the name of "good", she doesn't go "bad" ever, lol) you would be shocked. I mean, she's fierce to the point of it almost being hilarious that she could take on and defeat so much all by herself. What she did in the s1 finale seems like nothing in comparison. Bill is ( ... )
