We got an apartment! We haven't signed the lease yet, but we've got a security deposit in and the guy said it was ours! So...cool! It's a nice place. It's on Craig and Henry, which is before Fifth, so that's probably a seven minute walk, at most, and it's nice and level. It's also close to Oakland, and Craig is a great street to live on. I'm going to live at Kiva Han, I swear. It's one of two apartments on the top floor of this office building. All the office workers leave at 4:30, so after that, the four renters are the only ones left. The apartment is long and narrow, but I love it. You come into a living room with a fireplace (I don't think it works because the people living there now have a stereo in it) which moves straight into a little eating area. Both rooms have sloping roofs with skylights! To the immediate left of the front door is a huge storage closet, and to the right is a bedroom. It's the length of the living room, and it's kind of narrow and only has one window up near the ceiling, so I'm trying to make Mike live there. But, the entire wall to the living room can open if you want it to, so you could get light during the day. To the right of the eating area is a little kitchen. It's nice. Past the eating area is the other bedroom, which seemed huge to me, but I could just be over-exaggerating things in my head because there wasn't a bed in there--just a mattress on a floor. But it had windows on two walls, and a closet, so I like it. Best of all--two full bathrooms! And I think I can get onstreet parking, which'll be great. We never checked into laundry facilities, though, which could screw us over. I may be doing my laundry at the place below the sororities next year....
