Short review of the Great Big Sea concert before I go do all the homework I ignored to go see them. The energy was incredibly high--they were really rocking! Then, they did General Taylor, and it totally blew me away. It was really amazing! That's really the best I can say about it--incredibly high energy, very fun, but with real musicality. And I just about died when Bob pulled out that low whistle. My hands are too small to play mine.
The club they played at, M, used to be called Metropol. In a banter break, Alan asked what M stood for, and everyone started screaming "Metropol!" and he looked right at me (I was second row right in front of him) and asked again. I looked at him and put my hands in the air to say "I have no idea", and he said "No, really, what does M stand for?" I didn't want to be like everyone else, so I said "Michelle?" Then he went on to something else, but I was thrilled. My first GBS show, and Alan talked to me from the stage! I wanted to wait around to say hi to him after the show and ask Bob some stuff about his penny whistle, but Helen's parents were already there and I didn't want to make them wait. Next time, though! And I got one of Bob's guitar pics. The tech was really nice about giving it to me. I asked if I could have one, and he said "Of course you can, and thank you for asking!"
Ok, that's all for now. On to my interp paper. There will be no sleep for me tonight.
