I suppose that's the problem sometimes, these furcons aren't public funded like the BBC so they haven't got a mandate to cater for different tastes LOL. Course neither of us are demanding that everybody's obscure sub-genre be fulfilled but it's reasonable to say that there's plenty of furs who prefer a bit of the good old guitar.

Anybody who dare suggests that furs and rock music don't work is clearly got a bad case of stereotype, anecdotal tunnel vision (one of my friends as it happened made that suggestion based on something that happened at last year's RBW, much to my eye rapid twitching).

That said I would say that it wasn't just all that techno dance beat thingy being over-subscribed, but also the other extreme of metal being heavily catered for. I want something in between (ie: indie/rock like you suggest) since I'm not the type to be spotted wearing a scary amount of black clothes nor those bleeding glow-in-the-dark florescent fish-show-off-your-fat-moob-nets. ;)

It's kinda funny that in the greater sense my love of what is these days arguably the mainstream indie rock genre is quite a minority in the fandom. :3
