Weapon drabbles...

These were written for open_on_sunday  sometime ago, I just never got around to posting them here. The theme was "Weapons." Each of them deal with Buffy & Faith in some form or another. Enjoy (and you know two things as always, Joss Whedon owns them, and feedback is always appreciated.)

When Faith had gone to L.A. she had left behind her favourite knife. Every now and then, Buffy would pull the knife out of her weapons chest; she often wondered why she had kept it. It’s not as if she had good memories about that knife, it only served to remind her of her darker nature and of the badness between her and Faith. Every time she pulled it out, she swore she would get rid of it, but since she was usually in a hurry the knife would get put back in the chest, waiting for it’s rightful owner.

Even though the Hellmouth was closed, and there tons of Slayers everywhere, Faith still felt as if the scythe belonged to Buffy. She had been surprised when the blonde had given her the scythe to safeguard before flying off to Europe. Faith hadn’t wanted the burden of the scythe, and it always felt to her that Buffy was still testing her one last time. The scythe had become a burden to her; she was protecting it like the old woman had protected it. And whenever she touched it, she could still feel it’s power and the slayers created from it.

“A Slayer’s stake is her most important weapon, but her most vulnerable weapon.” Buffy wondered when she had become the one thing she never thought she would become: a Watcher. She sounded just like Giles had in their first year together. However, instead of Buffy training one Slayer, she was training twenty of them Buffy couldn’t help but see them as weapons, and she hated it because that was how the old Council had seen her and the other Slayers before her. However, they were weapons in the army against the forces of darkness, whether she liked it or not.
