Summary: Faith and Dean have an argument.

As Faith stood in front of Dean with her arms crossed against her chest, he didn’t believe that he had encountered anyone or anything as mad as Faith was at that precise moment. Instead of saying anything, he just leaned against the side of the Impala and waited for her to unleash her anger on him.

“You’ve got a lot of nerve coming back here Dean Winchester.”
“Maybe I just wanted to see you again.”
“Don’t even try to sweet talk me!”
“Come on, don’t be like this Faith.”
“Like what?”
“So mad at me.”
“And why shouldn’t I be?”
“Look I know that it looks bad that I just took off but I had to”
“Why?” Faith asked refusing to relent.
“My dad called and needed me.”
“And what, he says jump and you just ask how high?”

Dean stepped away from the car and his cocky attitude melts as he looks at Faith. They had met on a hunt and had clicked in a way that he had never expected to. Over the month and a half that they had spent together, he had opened up to her just as she had opened up to them. He didn’t think that there was anything that they didn’t know about one another. However, Faith didn’t seem to realize the type of relationship that he had with his father.

Faith refused to see John Winchester as anything other than a manipulative control freak. Dean offered wondered just what the Council had done to her, to make her distrust any male authoritarian figure so much. As it was, when John had called him and asked for his help on a hunt, Dean had taken off in the middle of the night without telling Faith why he was leaving. He hadn’t wanted to deal with the argument that would arise if he told her, instead it just seemed as if he had merely delayed it.

“Look Faith, I understand how you feel about my father, but he had a lead on the demon that killed my mom. I couldn’t say no to him,” Dean explained.
“Yeah and you could have told me instead of just taking off.”
“He called me in the middle of the night and I didn’t want to wake you up just so we could have an argument about how I’m Daddy’s good little soldier yet again.”
“Dean…”
“No Faith, don’t. We can go around in circles all day long, but you have to understand one thing about me. I swore a long time ago to get this thing that killed my mom. And if that means I have to blindly follow my dad, then so be it. I am going to do anything I can to kill that demon.”
“Alright,” Faith quietly stated as the anger left her.
“What?” Dean asked a bit surprised in the sudden change of mood in her.
“I’m not saying that I like your dad anymore than I did yesterday but I can understand your blind devotion in the man. Now get in here, I want to know just how much you missed me.”

Dean took in the sight of Faith’s smirk and shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t think that he’d ever understand her or how she could quickly go from anger to acceptance, but at that moment he didn’t care.
