There is really only one thing that bothers me about the Princess Diaries books. The series is six years old or something, but it is only supposed to cover Mia's high school years, and she just turned sixteen. Yet Ms. Cabot insists on using pop culture references from the year she writes them, as opposed to the year that it should be in the story. For example, if the books start in 2000 when Mia is 15, then when Mia turns 16 she should talk about things that were happening in 2001. Instead, she talks about Altar Boyz, My Super Sweet Sixteen, "Run, Katie, Run!" t-shirts, and the Pussycat Dolls. It's not correct, and I wish she would stop it.
