(no subject)
it never fails: i post an entry saying that a bigger update is on the way and i always forget about it. OH WELL.
actually, that isn't entirely true. i posted an entry a couple of nights ago but i deleted it. i know this is my journal and all but i detest when i use it to be whiney/negative/self-depricating. it's cool to vent and let it all out, but i hate when i inadvertantly write an entry, re-read it, and feel like it's a lame-o cry for attention. plus, i am trying so hard to be positive and focus on the GOOD in life....this journal is a good place to start.
anyway, more about the homebuying thing. it's actually been a little bit frustrating. i posted in my last entry about how we might be waiting a little bit longer to have a larger down payment for no PMI. then i got to thinking...well, if we wait..are we 'throwing our money away' on rent (i hate that phrase) in the meantime? i brought this up to greg, which led to even more number crunching. the answer? no. it's a very good decision for us to save more and eliminate PMI (sorry, i'm boring myself by writing this). so...we have already looked through available listings in our price range in the areas that we want, and now we are moving onto foreclosed properties and auctions. we'll see how this goes. we are a little picky: we want 3 bedrooms, at least a bath and a half, and a full basement. nice but not ENTIRELY neccessary things are a larger kitchen and a larger living room. we'd prefer not to have an older house, because we don't really want to deal with the issues that an older house might bring. so yup, we are picky, but we don't want to settle for anything less than what we want. so, when greg gets home from work, we're going to pour over some foreclosed listings and see if anything decent comes up.
OK sorry, that was entirely too long!!! blargh. we had a low-key weekend: dinner at carrabas last night and we saw wolverine, which OMG was amazing. far and away the best x-men movie. who doesn't love shirtless hugh jackman?! plus, gambit was in this movie, too....another one of my favorites.
next weekend i will be in toledo for mother's day, and BB BAR CRAWL on friday night!! i am so excited to revisit bowling green. plus, on thursday i took the day off, and i am meeting my work friend barry to seriously discuss bonnaroo plans...we have gone out before with this intent but always end up going somehow off topic. dunno why, since everyone knows i love to talk about bonnaroo. haha.
OH YEAH. we saw avenue q last weekend! it was mega funny. we liked it a lot. i miss musicals! tear!
also- i rented twilight from the library. i think i have a problem. the movie sucks, ok? but i had to watch it!!! what kind of drug does stephenie meyers put in this saga?!?!!?!
i got my hair done this weekend and it looks slammin'. i went with lighter highlights for the summer. i love it. i rarely don't like my hair, though!
so, there is some good stuff on the horizon. trying not to get too hung up on home buying, being in toledo, perhaps columbus the weekend after that (keep me posted, mary!). woo hoo :)
