The last time we went to Tokyo Disneyland, in November of last year, we had a
horrible time. RooG and I can handle crowds at Tokyo Disney Resort (we expect them!), but the combination of crowds + horrible weather ruined the day for us. We vowed that day that we would no longer buy advance tickets-- if the weather is good and we wanna go, we go.
Today's weather was pretty much fantastic. Not too hot, not too cold, no rain!
Obligatory list of attractions we went on:
Pirates of the Caribbean
Splash Mountain
Peter Pan's Flight
Big Thunder Mountain
Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek!
Mickey's PhilharMagic
It's A Small World
Pooh's Hunny Hunt
Star Tours (which was all-new and really cool.)
Captain EO
Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlasters

RooG and I making asses of ourselves on Splash Mountain. My sister was actually the one who invented the face I'm making-- years and years ago, we visited Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia as a family. We had multi-day passes, and for those they take your picture and make you a little badge you have to wear around. We agreed that we'd all make funny faces, but hers won the day.
Also, RooG's goofy hat flew off his head and hit the poor girl behind him in the face. He was lucky he didn't lose it for good! D:
Every time we go to Disneyland we have lunch at the Blue Bayou, the restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean, and we get the set menu. Today's hors d'oeuvre was "marinated seafood." YUMM
When the main course ("grilled sirloin with bacon-brown sauce") came, the waitress kindly offered to take our picture. :3
Dessert was "cream cheese mousse and passion fruit cream with cranberry jelly." AMAZING
Poking around the shops in World Bazaar there was this dude. He said his name was Steven, he's from Canada, and he's married with two kids. And he plays the piano amazingly well while riding a bicycle! His performance was great, but I found myself watching the old lady to the left who was clapping along with such intense focus. Wow. :O
Cute poster at the Monsters, Inc. ride.
One thing we HAAATE about Tokyo Disneyland are the stupid people who sit in the middle of the road waiting for a parade to start. This woman still had another two hours to go before the parade would start, but there she is, roasting in the sun and being in everyone's way. (But at least she didn't have a "leisure sheet" to sit on, which takes up even MORE space.)
Granted, I'm not a huge parade person, but... I don't understand the appeal of going to Disneyland, paying 6500 yen just to get in, and then sitting like a homeless person in the street for hours. If you don't mind standing, you can show up right when the parade starts and have a perfectly fine view.
Cinderella Castle was all done up with decorations celebrating Tokyo Disneyland's 30th anniversary.
Dinner at Grandma Sara's Kitchen. This time around the set menu was "Baked chicken with tomato-curry sauce, buttered rice/ Chilled cream of corn soup/ Peach jellied dessert." Yum!
I just love the queue area for Pooh's Hunny Hunt, especially at night. So pretty <3 We had hunny-flavored popcorn while we waited. mmmMmmmMmmmMmm
Came home EXHAUSTED but it was worth it!! A good day. :)
