The past week has been nuts!! My cousin Erin arrived on Tuesday. She's my mom's sister's daughter (making us first cousins), and she's the relative I'm closest to, minus my parents and siblings, of course.
So yeah, she got here on Tuesday. RooG and I picked her up at the airport. Then on Wednesday, she and I took the shinkansen to Shin-Osaka. We spent Wed exploring Osaka, Thu in Kyoto, and Fri in Nara. It was amazing!!
I can't possibly recap everything that we've done since Erin's arrived... but if you're interested, I highly recommend you check out her
Facebook album of pictures from her trip. She writes great captions on all the pictures too!
Anyway, I'll go backwards in time a bit. Those pants I bought back in October, the very first pair of pants I was ever able to buy at Uniqlo, have gotten kinda loose. So I went back to Uniqlo today and tried on the next size down. Fit perfectly! SOLD!
Can I just say that it is IMMENSELY EXCITING to be able to just walk into a store and buy pants!!! OHHHH YEEEAAAHHHH
Aaaaaaanyway. Erin's been staying with us since she arrived, but starting today she'll be staying at a hotel in Kawasaki. So in the morning we grabbed her luggage and headed to Kawasaki... but not before a stop at Sathi the Indian buffet for lunch. mmMmmmMMMmMmmm
We checked her into her hotel and then biffed around Kawasaki for a while, looking at the shops and stuff. We passed by a sheesha bar and decided we'd take a break in there.
It was a really nice way to spend 90 minutes or so. Love sheesha.
Yesterday was devoted to exploring Yokohama/ Minato Mirai. We had fun at the Yokohama Monogatari game center in Minato Mirai, where RooG and Erin played Gashaaaan, a game where you throw balls at the screen. SO fun.
and then RooG and I played Musical GunGun (I think that's what it was called?).
On Saturday night my buddy Jon joined us for some drunken karaoke. We brought down the house with a show-stopping rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.
That's all for now! Tomorrow: lunch in Yokohama, Edo-Tokyo Museum, Asakusa, dinner in Yokohama, and then watching RooG's karate class! phew!
