Yesterday we had a wild and wonderful day planned at Disney, to celebrate RooG's birthday. Took the bus over from Yokohama Station, full of excitement!!
First we poked around at the Ikspiari shopping center. I got toner at Lush and a hairpin at Sony Plaza. RooG got a Cookie Monster keychain. We had lunch at Kua 'Aina, because it is the best.
Then we saw the Cirque du Soleil show Zed. We had AWESOME seats... maybe 5-6 rows from the stage. So close. Here's the trailer:

Anyway, the show was AMAZING!!!!! There are no words. But sadly the show is closing on December 31st. ;__; I really hope they re-open it somewhere else, or take it on tour. It's an amazing show and it should never ever end. ;_;
After that we headed over to DisneySea. The forecast said rain, so I brought an umbrella. But this was like, TORRENTIAL rain. Strong winds blowing the rain right in your face. My umbrella was useless, and I was scared it was gonna break in the wind anyway. RooG, the smart one, had brought a raincoat, so he was ok. But I had to do something, fast.
I ducked into the first shop I saw that was selling the Minnie and Mickey ponchos. The place was PACKED. I asked RooG, should I get the M size or L size? He said M, and I agreed. Paid my 2200 yen and came out with this Mickey poncho!
But I quickly learned that I'd made a mistake most grevious when choosing the size. My legs were soaked in no time. ;___; Spent the next 2 hours wallowing in regret. ;___;
I can handle rain. But this weather was seriously AWFUL. At Disney, we like to poke around in all the shops... but the shops are packed with people (cos no one wants to be outside). We like to check out all the food carts and buy a snack to share if something looks good.... but with very little covered areas, there'd be no point cos whatever you buy would be soaked in 20 seconds. We like to ride the attractions... but the lines were long and they make you take off your rain gear and carry it with you when you come inside, a huge hassle. We like to see the beautiful views and we were looking forward to seeing the Christmas decorations... but it's hard to see ANYTHING when there's rain blowing in your face! etc etc etc.
After two hours we had seriously had enough and we were both ready to go home. We were both absolutely miserable (and wet). But we weren't leaving without dinner at our favorite, Sailing Day Buffet. We got there were told we'd have to wait an hour for a table. It ended up being only 40 minutes or so, but still, the line wasn't covered in any way and it was kind of a drag.
Once we got in we felt much better though. :)
We spent our allotted 90 minutes in peace and happiness, eating yummy foods, drinking hot coffee, and chillin. I liked this cake.
After that we had a BURST of genki and were able to enjoy the last 2 hours or so we had left in the park. So all's well that ends well, I guess.
We ended up getting Christmas presents for people in this shop in Mermaid Lagoon:
Requisite list of attractions we did/ saw:
Mystic Rhythms (show)
Sindbad's Storybook Adventures
Raging Spirits
Turtle Talk with Crush
Journey to the Center of the Earth
It ended up being a good day, so I can't complain too much. I got a cute case for my iPhone, and RooG got a light he'll wear when he rides his kickboard at night. Hopefully the next time we go to Disney it'll be sunny. :)
Dinner time! RooG made okonomiyaki. Get in my belly!
