RooG and I had a fantastic time on our little trip. :3 We woke up early and took the highway bus from Yokohama to TOKYO DISNEYSEA!! Yeeaaahhh!
The only problem was, we ended up arriving like an hour before the park opened, which meant an hour standing in line in the hot sun. -_- That was a bad idea.
It was HOT and humid. But once we got in the park we had a great time. We saw our favorite show, Mystic Rhythms, which actually doesn't feature any Disney characters at all. It's kinda like Cirque du Soliel, with live music, acrobatics, etc etc. It's great. :-D
We also went on all our favorite attractions, and squeezed in Raging Spirits twice. It wasn't crowded at all-- the longest wait time I saw posted was 30 minutes I think. We ran into Hercules and Megara and spoke English to them, which was kinda cool. Hercules shook my hand and he had a very strong and manly handshake. <3
DisneySea finally got the Turtle Talk with Crush attraction, which is basically a mini-show in which Crush from Finding Nemo talk to the audience. Kinda looks like this:
I saw it once in Florida and loved it, but the Japanese versions of beloved characters are almost horrible. Not because they're bad, but they're just DIFFERENT. Crush talks like a surfer and his speech is peppered with "awesome" and "dude", and I just didn't think the Japanese version would match up.... but it was great! :)
The Japanese voice actor did a great job and the kids asked plenty of dumb, hilarious questions. XD One kid asked him if he liked avocado, but Crush didn't know what that was. He said his favorite food was wakame. Another kid asked Crush was his last name was. Crush didn't have a last name, so he said he'd just take the kid's last name, and became Babe Crush. (Babe was the kid's last name, a name I've never heard before.) Anyway, it was hilarious and I'd love to see it again. :D
One thing I would not love to see again was the show A Table is Waiting.
The costumes were AMAZING and the performers are all great, but the show itself was so lame. The premise was that all the Disney characters had to get a special dinner ready for a very special guest (who at the end was revealed to be..... YOU!!!), but that was it in terms of story. It was just a musical revue.
A bunch of ladies dressed as curry spices came out and danced to... Spice Up Your Life. Two guys dressed as hot tamales danced to... that Feelin' Hot Hot Hot song. -__- The whole thing was just lame, I thought. Boo. (The costumes were amazing though. Check out
this page with tons of nice pictures of the show.)
BUT later when we went to the Sailing Day Buffet for dinner, it was kinda cool because a lot of the food they had on offer was from the show! We loved this buffet. It was 3000 yen, not too expensive considering it's all-you-can-eat with unlimited soft drinks, and they had a good mix of different yummy foods. I loved the Mickey-shaped yaki onigiri and the milk cheesecake. mmMMmmMmmmMmm
We stayed until close and took a taxi to our hotel, the nearby Tokyo Sunroute Hotel. It's an official Disney hotel, meaning it's not actually operated by Disney but still rocks. The hotel was really nice, beautifully-decorated and clean and spacious.
Problem was I woke up the next morning and my voice was gone. D: Still is. D: I don't seem to be sick, I feel totally fine. I guess what did me in was a combination of screaming on scary rides like Tower of Terror and having the aircon blasting in our room (it was hot!!).
But yeah, my voice is still hoarse and weird-sounding so I'm trying to speak as little as possible so it gets better fast. I love to speak, so it's tough. :C
