"Hey." It was actually pretty common for all of the lights to go out, but usually, after Tony Stark tripped a breaker or caused a fire or crashed into something in the R & D level of the Avengers Tower, the emergency lights came back on. But not today. And that was a shame because he was almost sure he'd perfected grilled cheese without Pepper

"Lunch? I suppose that would be rather nice."
Arms behind his back, he raised an eyebrow at the way Tony spoke. He wasn't a PA, well, he was and he wasn't. He was meant to be a very intelligent system, not just a bright human. But when Tony made up his mind, he made up his mind. And Jarvis was beginning to think he was officially stuck as a human.
"If I am to stay this way in this particular model, shouldn't I have a name? A full name, I mean. And an age. I can hardly give my real one, it doesn't fix the body."
Just in case the tabloids got a hold of Tonys new PA and he got dragged into the whole super hero parade of madness... he couldn't of just denied being Iron Man!

Even if he liked him. He liked the look of him. The figure he cut was strong and sure...and puppyish. Man, they should have made Jarvis a dog! This was too funny. Tony stopped, hands in his pockets, and shook his head before leading the way out. He was on his heels. It really was perfect. He just had to give the man his date book and something to write with.
Perfection.
"You have a name and an age and all that jazz. Stop worrying. Get in the car. I promise I won't kill you."
Reply
"I wish I could believe that promise," Jarvis mumbled as he took the long walk to the death car. He reluctantly got in and near enough lashed himself to the seat, the seatbelt fastened tightly and his hands already gripping the handle. It was like Tony was trying to break the speed of light in a car!
This time, he was going to be prepared.
"Remember to stop for the red lights this time?"

When Jarvis was finished almost literally tying himself in, Tony leaned over to double check the belt.
"You only live once, Jarvis. While you're human, sit back and enjoy. Trust me."
No scarier words could Tony Stark ever utter. He risked himself on a next to constant basis after all. This was not a man to trust. And yet? Had he not saved the planet? The city countless times? Tony's smile was soft before he pulled out into traffic.
He kept it below eighty at least. You're welcome.

He was just relieved when the car stopped. He didn't care where they stopped but they had and it was wonderful. He was definitely going to program the highway code into Starks laptop when he got back into the systems, make sure he at least suggested the man brushed up a bit.
"Well that was better than last time," Jarvis said with a long exhale, undoing his seat belt and turning to his creator. "I know you spend a better part of your life these days flying that suit but you do realise that there is a great difference between flying and driving?"
Aka speed limits, not messing with traffic and slowing down for people to cross.

He did not have reservations but there was a table waiting for him just the same and Tony thought about holding Jarvis' chair for him as well...but the image would be on social media sites within the second after. He ordered wine, because after champagne and expecting to drive himself home, wine was always a good idea, and then turned back to Jarvis as he puzzled out the menu.
"All right, you want an alias? Dazzle me with your thoughts." He leaned in, interested in the AI's idea of what a good background story might be. They could work on integrating this identity for online -- thereby validating his existence -- after they managed to safely make it home.

He sat back at the table, looking over the menu and trying to work out what was what and what he'd like. He might just order something Tony got... or ask if they did omelets. He knew he liked them. And he also liked orange juice... he definitely wasn't keen on scotch but he did intend to branch out and share the wine. If Tony permitted it, of course.
"I'm not sure, really. I assumed you might have more ideas than I do, sir. I will of course keep the name Jarvis, you did pick it after all, but humans tend to have two names. And I doubt I can use one of yours," Jarvis pointed out as he set the menu down and looked at Tony with a small amused smile. "What age do I look?"
Reply
Tony really didn't care. Jarvis would be Jarvis. He was just going through the royal family right now. If Jarvis didn't pick soon, he'd offer Harry, Richard and Phillip. Maybe even George, though no one liked a George, he decided. Or a Henry. Bad connotations with both.
"You can select some schools, place of birth, degrees...you get the picture. It doesn't matter to me."
The wine arrived with two chilled glasses and Tony insisted on the cork popping and pouring himself. For a man that could hardly look after himself, he did like to appear competent while in public.

Taking one of the glasses Tony had poured, he sniffed the wine and carefully took a small sip, swallowing carefully as if expecting it to burn. And it didn't. Actually, it wasn't bad. He took a much bigger gulp of it and set it aside.
"I can select as I go and we can build a profile for however long I'm stuck like this. I assume I will be able to go back, I'm please that I can help you still but I don't think I'm as capable of watching you when human."
If anything, Tony was watching him. Which was worlds of wrong!

He grabbed the glass from Jarvis, not to take it away, but just so he could see his face and get the full picture of that lazy smirk that was forming on his lips when he finished his wine. Baby's first tipsy should really make it into Jarvis's baby book.
Too bad he hadn't gotten a picture last night of his first naked time stroll down the hallway.
Ah, missed moments!
Tony's hand finally slipped from Jarvis's when he realized he was being too handsy and the bread and warm olive oil arrived.

As much as he wanted to sit around, contemplating the ways of caring for Tony, he couldn't seem to focus as well as he could before. He was a bit... foggy. Not that he minded. There was that tipsy sort of smile on his face as the empty glass was removed and he was left wondering if there was more.
It had a pleasant tingle to his mind, like he was lowering his power cells to converse energy.
Blinking, he hadn't actually realised Tony was being touchy until his hand moved and various things arrived. Huh, interesting. Perhaps Tony was that sort of man. He reached out for the bread and pulled a bit off, sniffing it once again. He was programmed to assess every situation and as a human, he felt it was best to do that with all of his sense.
"I would be lying if I said I wasn't starting to enjoy food. And drink! I especially like wine."

He stretched his legs under the table, engaged completely with Jarvis as he had always been. They compliment each other, though Tony had never imagined being face to face with him. Dinner time conversations, however, were very much a reality, though Jarvis mostly chimed in from time to time while Tony ate cup noodle and the AI coded his ideas into a blue wire frame model for Tony to manipulate later.
It was a new sort of experience for him.
Almost like what he imagined it would be like if Banner hadn't insisted on going back into hiding, to do his own thing after a week with Tony at the Tower.
"Okay, now that you're wearing the ravioli," Tony cut in, a full bottle of wine gone missing, "just wait until you try the tira misu!"

And Jarvis had to admit that he was very taken by it. As an AI, he never really interacted like this. But the eye contact, the ability to make gestures and understand them in return was actually rather fun. He found himself grinning rather happily and slowly working through glass after glass of wine during their discussions.
Now he was very pleasantly relax, if not a little dopey. He was a mixture of feeling very calm and yet having a bit of a strange feeling in his stomach. Regardless, it didn't affect his appetite.
"Tira Misu? Is it coming? Oh that's good. I really like being here, sir. All this food is pleasant," Jarvis said happily, a slight slur to his tone as he looked around for that waiter person.
"So is the wine. We should get more, should we?"
Course AIs didn't understand the downsides here, like the potential of that strange stomach feeling turning into vomiting or the next day hang over.

Halfway through dessert and an idea involving self tying shoes like the sort in Back To The Future, Tony realized he was drinking poor Jarvis under the table and called for a check.
At this rate, the AI wouldn't even be able to stand and Tony didn't really want to carry him out. Water and coffee would have to perk him up enough to duck out the back. Jarvis could stumble around the kitchens all he liked, no one would have their phones handy there to ruin this--
Whatever it was.
"You're a menace, Jarvis," Tony grinned, eyes shot and red. Wine was a dangerous thing but oh, it felt so good.
Good enough that Tony hadn't even realized that they'd gone from lunch straight through dinner and it was nearing seven.
