When you first enter the castle there will be Elizabeth standing there waiting to greet you all. After all it's a party she is hosting, she might as well introduce herself to everyone that has come and thank them.
[Mjrn approaches, all sorts of self-conscious. Not only does she naturally stand out a bit, being the only Viera around, but she's not used to wearing such formal attire. She does her best to move gracefully and not fidget or trip over anything, but it takes conscious effort. Hopefully, no one will notice.]
[Elizabeth curtsies politely upon seeing her, finding the ears to be rather cute, though she did wonder how she managed it, but that was a question for later on.]
Upon arrival you will be seated in the dining hall to start the party with a nice god meal, so I hope you haven't eaten before arriving. You'll be seated where your Name card will be. In front of you there is a lovely Plate setting, decorated to suit the theme of the place.
[Mjrn, nervous and eager not to offend through her lack of such etiquette, barely eats anything. Her progress is slow, as she watches others like a hawk to navigate through the nuances of such a formal affair. So eager is she to make a good impression that she barely thinks to do what she came here for; to ask question and hopefully gain answers. Oh, well. Maybe afterwards?]
Mjrn’s distress was noticed. Some one with out formal etiquette training, unfortunately, stood out at a party like this. It was distressing that a lady should find herself so uncomfortable. During one of her fleeting glances around at the other guests as she searched for clues Chloé casually picked up the proper fork to indicate the one she had in her hand was for the salad and not to be used on the entrée.
Relief ran through her as Mjrn took notice, and she quickly switched forks. Hopefully, no one else would notice. She cast a brief grateful look, even if she wasn't sure that such was done for her benefit. The knowledge still aided her, and so she felt slightly less anxious as a result.
Locke is standing around watching everyone dance. He's enjoying himself fully, but would like to dance. He just doesn't know how and doesn't really want to embarrass himself.
[Mjrn watches the dancing curiously and perhaps a little wistfully, but prefers to remain apart from the affair. Her knowledge of such dancing is non-existent, and she's desperate not to embarrass herself if it can at all be avoided. She glances around for any familiar faces...or even just friendly ones.]
It wasn’t that he couldn’t dance or that there weren’t several attractive ladies here at the party it was more that this event was beginning to remind him of another that he had attended recently. A wedding, that had gone horribly wrong. Chloé moved off to the side almost hiding himself behind one of the tall pillars. So lost in thought that he wasn’t even really paying much attention to the events going on around him. He was back in that moment right before the darkness had attacked his world.
As most people were dancing, gossiping, and generally just not paying much attention to anyone outside of their circle, Setsuna figured now was a good time to leave. Not leave leave, of course, but she had some business to attend to in this place.
Quietly, glass in hand, she made her way to the ballroom doorway, not bothering to glance to see if anyone was following her. One, the acoustics were such that she'd be able to figure out if someone did try to sneak behind her, and two, well, glancing back just looked suspicious. And she didn't want suspicion to fall on her for any reason.
But if anyone did ask, she knew, as she quietly disappeared into the main hall, that she could bluff her way through it. She'd had plenty of practice at deceiving people, after all.
Upon the buffet table, if you are still hungry of course are many different varieties of food, mainly based of the different worlds that have been seen. There is also a lovely selection of drinks, both alcoholic and not, as well as a rather large selection of tea and fruit tea.
Chairs have been places close to the area for people who want to sit down and eat.
The small brown mouse carefully climbed up the tablecloth to the top of the buffet table. There were so many unusual foods here! She moved cautiously between the platters of food timidly wondering if she also might be allowed to have something. Usually humans reacted… poorly… when they noticed there was a mouse around so Mrs. Brisby was prepared to run if that situation presented itself.
Mjrn herself was not hungry, though she headed over to the buffet table regardless. At least having a drink to hold would give her something to do with her hands. She picked up a glass of fruit tea, regarding it curiously, when something at the corner of her vision moved. Turning her head, she stifled a soft gasp. "A...mouse?" She had seen them before, yet none that wore clothing....
A gasp like that was usually followed by screaming and occasionally even the bristles of a broom coming down from above so Mrs. Brisby was quick to draw away from the plate of cookies she had found and face the one who had noticed her.
“He-- hello.” Her voice trembled just a little before she reminded herself that most humans here could actually understand her. “I hope it isn’t any trouble that I am here.”
