[ZELL]: After another hard day's work at Land of Dragons, Zell moseyed on back to Destiny Islands with his spoils in tow. It was a moderately sized bag of items-- enough to give him a little extra income to spend. Sure, there was a moogle shop for that kind of thing where he worked, but he was more familiar with the one at Destiny Islands and it was on the way home. Made it much easier to get to. He waved to the moogle as he headed on into a shop. "Yo-- back with some more stuff for you!" he called, holding up the bag for show.

"Great, kupo! Glad to see you've been keeping busy, Zell!"

"Of course!" he replied with a proud grin, dropping the bag on the counter.

The moogle toddled over and took the bag. "I'll take a look at what you brought me! Be right back, kupo!"

With a nod, Zell plopped down into a chair and waited.

[SETSUNA]: Just before the moogle came back, the door to the shop opened, and a figure entered, carrying a bag as well. This particular bag was twice the size of Zell's, and was pretty heavy-looking given how the figure was dragging it around. Once the figure got to the counter, they swung it as hard as they could in order to bring it up to the counter top.

What was more surprising than the amount of stuff is who it is that's brought it in - Setsuna Meiou.

[ZELL]: Automatically, Zell lifted his head when he heard the door open. The back legs of his chair snapped noisily against the ground when he lurched forward in surprise, eyes wide-- first at the sight of how frickin' HUGE that bag was, and then at the figure carrying it.

"HOLY--! ...I-Instructor Meiou?!"

[SETSUNA]: "Oh!" If Setsuna was shocked, she didn't seem to show it.: "Zell. What brings you here to the shop?"

[ZELL]: "Uh, well, I--"

But before Zell could fully answer, the moogle came toddling back with the appropriate amount of munny in the bag now, as opposed to the items they previously carried. "You brought in a nice batch today, Zell! Kupo!" The moogle's attention was soon taken by the massive bag now occupying the table; he peeked around it and waved.

"Setsuna! Another outstanding turn-out from you, I see!"

Meanwhile, Zell continued to gape... and stare. What the hell, man.

[SETSUNA]: "Thank you, Manny." Setsuna smiled. "I do my best. Though, you know I can't take all of the credit. So many hunters tend to not pick everything the Heartless drop up, even though all of these things are useful in their own way."

That was her story, and she was sticking to it. And really, how else could it make sense? Setsuna looked nothing like a soldier, or like she could take too many Heartless on. She was just the physics teacher, nothing more, nothing less, surely.

[ZELL]: "You must have great patience to retrieve all of these items, kupo! I'm very impressed. I'll be right back with your munny, kupo!"

It took a couple assistants for the moogle to be able to lug that big ol' thing around, but he got it to the back regardless to sort out the items. All the while, Zell squinted suspiciously at the physics teacher, trying to figure out what exactly was going on, here.

"That's a pretty frickin' hefty bag for just... pickin' up left behind items... I could barely get half that much fightin'!"

[SETSUNA]: "You would be quite surprised, Zell." At this, Setsuna simply smiled. "It's as Manny says, a lot of it is patience."

At this, she went to sit down herself. Bringing that bag had been pretty hard work.

"But enough about that. I hope you had some time to do your homework while you were fighting Heartless..."

[ZELL]: "Hmmm..."

Zell wasn't so sure about that. Even from the time he first found her in Traverse Town and waited with her while she woke up, something about the way she reacted to things... and the general feeling he got from her anyway-- something seemed different. Unique. He honestly has no idea what it could even be, but he got the notion there was more than meets the eye with this lady. Nothing could quite stifle his undeniable curiosity towards this notion, though. There wass definitely something about the instructor and he was determined to find out what it was!

"...Uh-huh. I've been keepin' up just fine." Zell tried not to appear too outwardly suspicious, but he wasn't not buying the patience thing.

It was a little while before Manny finally returned, but when he did, the bag was thankfully no where near as taxing to carry with the munny it exchanged for. Thank the Light for munny being compact and light-weight! "Here you go, kupo! You made quite a bit of munny, Setsuna!" he said, rolling the bag up onto the counter for her.

[SETSUNA]: "Thank you, Manny." Setsuna gave the moogle a warm smile. "This munny will definitely come in handy."

There was a great deal of things she intended to do with the heavy bag in her hand - not simply to travel or to buy and make supplies for her students. She had other ideas as well. Ideas where she could aid in fighting the Darkness even if she was just Setsuna Meiou. It was a way to make her feel she was doing something to bring her world and everyone else's back, civilian or otherwise - it was just the way she was,

[ZELL]: "Anytime, kupo! I hope to see you again soon!"

Zell observed the conversation between the two a bit before deciding to carefully prod Setsuna for more answers. He didn't want to seem too nosy, even if he was dying to know - really - how she managed to scrounge up that much stuff.

"Where do you go huntin' anyway? Or that a trade secret?"

[SETSUNA]: "I go to the various worlds," Setsuna replied as she put her munny away. "Anyways, it doesn't matter where I go. The Heartless are everywhere. And even when someone defeats some, more will arrive eventually. So then it's easy to eventually get so many items."

[ZELL]: Zell really wanted to believe her-- he really did! Why would she lie? Why did she have reason to? ...And yet, he just couldn't will himself not to be suspicious. Unless she had some mega elite scavenging skills, it just seemed highly unlikely when he couldn't even collect that much fighting as much as he did. --He decided to investigate and pretend as if he'd let it go for now.

"You must be pretty busy all the time, then! D'you even sleep?" he joked.

[SETSUNA]: "I do, though..." At this, Setsuna looked slightly troubled. "Coming here's made my biological clock...something's caused it to be a little bit off. I'll be up for days, and then sleep for more days."

Of course, the implications on her work were enormous. But, she still managed to smile a bit. After all, it would be what her princess would do.

[ZELL]: "Huh. Yeah, I guess bein' taken out of your world has a way of doin' that to ya."

Zell offered a sympathetic smile. "I guess I oughta let you get back to it, though! I got some work I still need to do myself. I'll see you at school, Instructor!" he said, waving as he got up and jogged outside.

...Except he wasn't really leaving at all. As soon as the door closed behind him, he zoomed around a corner and waited for Setsuna to come out. Just what was she up to?

[SETSUNA]: "Of course." Setsuna smiled back. "See you at school."

And thus she also left the shop. She walked briskly, her shoes clacking on the pavement. Wherever she was going, she seemed to be walking there with purpose, her hair blowing in the breeze.

[ZELL]: Now, this is where Zell's SeeD training was put to the test. He had to be sneaky and quiet, but quick. He took in a deep breath and started scampering along behind her, hiding behind various things until she was a reasonable enough distance away to move. He was just thankful Destiny Islands was a pretty clean place-- not much to trip over or make noise with.

[SETSUNA]: And that was probably a good thing, since Setsuna seemed to be making her way towards a specific destination. Though, she did look behind her, an eyebrow up. Hmm. She could have sworn she felt something - someone. Maybe. If she had to she'd take action. But...that faint, faint feeling didn't seem threatening, not at the moment.

So she turned back and walked again - right towards the gummi ships.

[ZELL]: (Oh crap!) Zell quickly ducked behind his current object once he saw Setsuna turn around, gulping. Did she see him? crapcrapcrap! A myriad of thoughts went through his mind-- like, how she had this /vibe/ about her. A vibe that made him think she could totally whoop up on him if she wanted. Once he finally dared to peek back out, he saw Setsuna heading along her merry away again...

So he took another deep breath and kept following. He'll probably kick over a garbage can later, but at the moment... he's not doing half-bad with this sneaking thing if he says so himself!

[SETSUNA]: And, finally, she got to the gummi ships. After some pleasant chatting with the moogle conductor, she looked over at the ship.

"Traverse Town, please. I'd like to get there as soon as possible. It's rather important, I'm afraid."

And with that she began to make her way to one of the docked ships. First things first, she definitely had to get this done before she did anything else.

[ZELL]: This was quite a bit trickier than following her through the streets. Now he had to actually get in the ship without her seeing him. Ever. Maybe if he squatted in one of the seats the whole time? --Gaaah! If he thought about it much longer, he was gonna miss her! So, he pretty much just ran inside the ship and dove into one of the seats.

How graceful!

[SETSUNA]: Well, she didn't seem to notice Zell. Actually, as the gummi ship took off and entered the Lanes In Between, she seemed to be lost in concentration. She stared out into the ether, as if to look for something, focusing on finding something in the darkness. As to what she is looking for...who knew? But even with her focus, she seemed to look, slightly lost, somehow. As if she lacked a wheel and compass, and her aim was entirely directionless.

And yet she still kept looking, even while the ship began to touch down. Once the ship landed, however, she simply got off and began to walk into the town.

[ZELL]: And for that, he was eternally grateful. He was uncomfortable enough for how awkward it was trying to sit in the seats without being seen. He was being too cautious to really peek out at her much, but he did a couple times, and noticed the far-out look she had in her eye. So unnervingly calm...

He quickly ducked as far out of view as he could while she walked past and out of the ship, waited a moment, then followed. Where was she going? he wondered. In his concentration, he - after all - did not see a garbage can and proceeded to shoulder right into it. He wordlessly flipped out before diving behind something in the midst of its loud rattling and held his breath.

(Good goin'! Geez...!)

[SETSUNA]: At this, Setsuna looked around, seeing the garbage pail fall. Her eyes narrowing, she was about to investigate, but before she could, several Moogles quickly converged to pick it up and clean the area around it. She relaxed. They didn't seem to be reacting to anything else. That meant the coast was clear (she hoped).

With that, she turned back and...went towards a supply store. Going in, her greeting towards the moogle vender could be seen through the main windows.

[ZELL]: Zell sucked in a deep breath and held it, staying as motionless as was physically possible for him. Thank Hyne the moogles showed up! After a moment, he dared to peek around the corner of his hiding place and expelled the breath once Setsuna seemed to have forgotten about it. "That was close...!" he breathed.

He had to keep following her though-- he was on to something! He knew it! Sneaking past the moogles, he followed her to a store and bit his lip. Obviously, he just couldn't go following her inside, but--... Window! He slid over and peeked inside, trying to garner was going on here... He wasn't exactly an expert at lip-reading.

[SETSUNA]: And a large portion of that large pile of munny was going to the shopkeeper, who gave her...books, graph paper, colored pencils and lab kits. In fact most of this stuff looked like school supplies. It all went into several large bags, while Setsuna and the worker talk. She seemed pretty glad that they were able to fill her order out, judging by the smile on her face.

Then the moogle came up with one final item: a coupon for her next visit. Judging by how Setsuna's smile widened, this coupon was going to get used.

[ZELL]: ...School supplies? Zell frowned, admittedly pretty disappointed. Her purposeful walk was to get school supplies? Honestly. Either this lady was tremendously dedicated to school, or... man, he didn't know. He kept watching regardless, because that still didn't answer his curiosities as to how exactly she got all of those items.

--How long was she gonna talk? He shifted about impatiently outside the window.

[SETSUNA]: And as Setsuna left, she turned...towards another store. She seemed to be going to the seamstress? And just like at the supply shop, the moogles are happy to see her.

Then, as the piles of clothing were being put in bags, something else happened: the moogles gave her several pieces of paper. All of the stylish clothing she was buying had been designed beforehand--by her.

It looked like Instructor Meiou was definitely full of surpising talents at the least.

[ZELL]: When Setsuna started moving again, Zell got his hopes up a little. Maybe now she'd reveal her secrets--! Nope. Another store. He had to admit, he was pretty impressed. Most designers were pretty full of themselves and... their stuff sucked anyway. (Instructor Meiou is overly modest,) Zell thought, shaking his head.

"Man. Looks like I just followed her on a shoppin' trip," he mumbled.

[SETSUNA]: As Setsuna began to make her way back to the gummi ship, her mind went back to what she needed to do. Not everything was for her clasd, after all. She had an idea, a plan, that she needed to implement, or at least try to implement. It would take time, but...

[ZELL]: As Zell followed Setsuna to the gummi ship, he'd just about given up. That wasn't to say he had-- he was just... bummed. Even had the whole slacked shoulders and disappointed look on his face. So far, it looked like what she said was true: she just had impeccable patience and dedication. He was barely even sneaking after her now; there didn't seem to be much to see, so why put so much effort into sneaking?

(Go figure...)

[SETSUNA]: Setsuna could hear someone behind her, but she didn't turn to look. That way, they wouldn't be able to see her little smile as she boarded the gummi ship. Her secret was, surely, safe.
