Cloud had simply needed to get away from things for awhile. After that embarrassing display with the music and now seeing Sephiroth, a different Sephiroth, Cloud just didn't know what to do. The Sephiroth he knew always taunted him, always tried to make him give up on the Light. But this one had no idea what was going on, he was from that world that his other self and Zack were from. Where Sephiroth had never been aligned with the Darkness, where Sephiroth was sane. It simply boggled his mind. So he grabbed one of Cid's Gummi Ships and rode out to a world, any world, to just get away and cool his head. He found himself in the Pride Land. Of course, he remembered a bit belatedly that Sora had said that he was turned into an animal upon arrival. So when Cloud stepped out of the Gummi Ship, he found himself flat on his stomach and his limbs askew from having paws instead of hands and feet.
Cloud was a Lynx.
It took a few minutes to get used to the feeling and even more so to have to use his sword with his mouth, but he got the hang of it quickly enough and set out to find a secluded spot. Away from Heartless and the inhabitants. Eventually, Cloud was in the Oasis. It was very beautiful and the jungle was dense enough to keep him hidden away for a time. Cloud leapt onto a rock jutting over the lake, the sun having warmed it. He shifted down to his stomach again and stared at the water. He sighed softly, still thinking about the days gone by and what to do about it.
