If Looks Could Kill, My Profession Would Be Staring

Ok, so let's try something a little less introspective and emo...

I had my U of Chicago interview on Tuesday. My interviewer was a 24-year-old international banker who was extremely down to earth and real with me. Not to mention that he was super cute. He was so passionate about U of C and the education that you can get there. He told me that he originally went to Chicago for a semester, and then transfered to Harvard, thinking that the name recognition would help him get a better job later in life. However, once he got there and started taking classes, he found that the classes were too easy. He said that at Chicago, the classes teach you a different way to think, while at Harvard, he was able to just get by with reading the assigned chapters and doing the questions at the end of each chapter, like high school. He also found that the students were very one-dimensional and boring. So he transfered back to Chicago, and he said it was one of the best decision he's ever made.

Mind you, he said all this with about a "fuck" or a "shit" thrown in every three words or so. He said that as long as my grades and SAT scores are high enough, I should have no problem getting in. I think he liked me.

So I think Chicago is where I'll end up. Hm...college. Shit, I'm old.

I had the best conversation with Patrick (who [whom?] I've decided needs to come with me to college) on Saturday after drama rehearsal. We got all philisophical and shit and just talked about life and being and existance and all this stuff that really made me think. I haven't had a real deep conversation like that in awhile, so it was definetely welcomed.

We have one act competition coming up on Thursday, December 2. We're the second to last group of that night performing our play, Rapunzel Uncut. Hopefully we'll do well. And Garcia won't kill one of us beforehand. If you're interested, you should come by! Tuesday night at 8:00 at Ferguson High.

Too bad most of the people on my friends' list are already Thespian members and have to come because they're in it/they're part of the crew. But whatever. We need an audience (practically no one shows up on Thursday, but we had to request it because I have SAT's on that Saturday, which is probably the day most people show up) because our play is a comedy, and comedies always do best with an audience there to actually laugh at it.

My mom told me she saw Mutter at the grocery store yesterday. He saw her, and she thought she said hi, so she put her hand up in a way that could either be taken as a wave or as a signal to stay the fuck away. And after I specifically told her that he works at that Publix (the new one on 120th) and that she might want to avoid it.

Went out with Danny last night. We were gonna go see the Spongebob movie, but my rehearsal ran late, and we decided to go see a play at Coral Reef instead. Saw Nick and hung out with him a bit, and then went to The Big Cheese, where I saw the coolest muthafucker I know, Caitlin. Her and Danny had a bit of a reunion (they're both Gilbert Porter kids), we ate a pizza with too much cheese, and then I went home and procceded to pass out the minute I laid down on my bed.

And now for a shitload of pictures.

The front of Swarthmore. This building is called Parish Hall.

Another picture of the front, though slightly ruined with the big orange cone on the left.

The path to the admissions office.

The sun setting over the main green.

The outdoor ampitheater on campus, where everyone sits together as freshman for orientation, and then graduates together as seniors.

Emily (qanat) and I right before leaving.

Zamia and Irma.

Another picture of Zamia, my lesbian lover, during Bio class.

Laura, echo_cho_ho_o, working hard on our nearly impossible lab.

Nick, me, and Luis, not really doing much but goofing off and letting Laura take pictures of us.

My main man, Shekeab, being a badass.

Mike, bgmaster36, and Patrick, zalitz carrying Gabe.

Patrick and Cathryn, mynameislola, holding down Brian for a picture.

Karina looking hawt in her costume.

Yesenia and Milena, falltopleces using Mike to untie their yarn. See, I told you all my drama friends have a livejournal.

Milena looking hot while...

Mike looks miserable.

Tania, tinkr_bell in her tower.

Brian looking demonic.

Have a great thanksgiving, and hope you're all well and dandy and all that nice stuff.
