You gots the hook up

Jul 29, 2004 00:36

Ok, ok, ok. I changed my article. Now I'm doing it on why there's been a trend in teenagers hooking up and having "friends with benefits" instead of actually dating and getting into relationships (statistics have proven it).

I want to know:

1. What you guys think about hooking up
2. Why you think other people hook up instead of getting into relationships
3. If you have any personal experience with this subject, please tell me your story. I need opinions from kids who have actually had "friends with benefits" or have hooked up instead of gotten into a relationship.

I would put in my personal experience with the subject, but I don't want it to be completely one-sided. Yeah, if you haven't noticed, I'm all for hooking up, and I think at such a young age, we shouldn't be rushing into relationships like we do (and like I have in the past).

If you don't feel comfortable commenting, but do want to give me your input, please e-mail me. I really want to hear what everyone has to say.

AND BE HONEST! Really think about what you're saying.

Edit- Thanks to Video@AOL, I have finally been able to see the big speeches made at the Democratic National Convention (which all of you should be watching because the speeches these guys are making are amazing) and I have to say that my ambivalence for John Kerry has gone away (mostly because he's running with John Edwards, who I would so do). I'm actually feeling good about the guy. The completely overplayed his involvement in the Vietnam War, but his speech tonight was really great. Granted, Edwards's speech was better, but it's Kerry-Edwards (I'm sure we'll see the Edwards-[insert random Democrat, but I'm feeling like Obama Barack might find himself on there] ticket in 2012.)

Oh, and I am also in love with Al Gore. His speech was...gah. It was too cool for words.

"But you know the old saying, 'You win some, you lose some' and then there's that little known third category..."

"I didn't come here to talk about the past. Afterall, I don't want you to think that I lie awake every night counting and re-counting sheep."

Goodness me. I wish I was 18.
