It had come to this. Her once ebullient life filled with inexorable pleasure had been brutally decimated by his perfunctory relationship. His mendacious words had been selected so carefully, as he winnowed throughout his vocabulary desperate to sequester perfect words in a fashion that would inevitably lead her to his heart, enabling him to interpolate irreparable damage to her impeccable essence. Deceit he cautiously obscures by engaging serenades and she slowly becomes inured to his surreptitious existence. Sporadic changes in his conduct confuse her as her emotions oscillate from content to depressed, but now she stands her ground no longer performing her usual obsequious role. Her existence left in shambles by his untaken actions and counterfeit prayers, along with the asperity of his voice that sliced through her soul and made her quiver, leading to the conclusion her life was a hapless mistake. His repetitive penitence she disregards as she icily rebuffs his importune cries for reuniting their love. Her resolute soul refuses to be kept a void, but it is now contaminated with his onerous memory. Solace is found among her only friend as her flaccid hand grips the black ink ballpoint pen that glides so willfully across the faint blue lines. Her plaintive scribbles of passion scattered against the cream colored background with the metal coil spiraling downward hold the secrets of her life, the explanation of her embodiment.
