there are certain moments
that stick out in my mind
moments were something should have been said
something should have been done
moments were i should have stood
up for what i believed in
though now i'm not sure if i knew what i believed in
because they were defining moments
they made your behaviour right or wrong
they defined my position in the relationship
and now i'm on the look out for those moments
those defining moments
were i can either become the lost girl
or stay myself
so i wait and i watch
and i tell myself i won't shy away from
sticking up for myself this time
because i still have to be willing to make a choice
i still have to look out for myself
before i look out for my relationship
i can't be that girl again
