Unrelatedly, I have just discovered the joy that is the new public library. The building is literally brand-new (it opened two weeks ago) and only a ten-minute walk from the house and a three-minute walk from the school. It somehow manages to be both cozy and slightly futuristic, has a good catalog, and just looks really cool. They have these little "study rooms" all the way along one side, and a couple of friends and I commandeered one to review Calculus today. We picked the one next to the coffee-vending machine (which is stunningly cheap and amazingly does not taste like stomach bile or burnt plastic, making it a complete win) and decided that, yeah, this was pretty much the best place ever. I know where I'll be lurking on a regular basis. It's so nice to actually have a useable library -- the one in Charlotte was all kinds of decrepit, filled with an unfortunate number of screaming children, the occasional creepy hobo and no study space to speak of. This...is pretty hardcore. :D
