Today, I:
+ Made delicious chai from scratch. (It's a simple if not very precise recipe -- five cups of water, one of milk, and then six tablespoons of black tea. Add six spoonfuls of sugar, a spoonful or more of ground cinnamon, a spoonful of vanilla extract, half a spoonful of cloves, and a bit of ground black pepper. Boil it all up, strain it and serve. Add more sugar to taste.)
+ Became a connisseur of fake meat. At the urging of my vegetarian friends (for some reason I tend to befriend people scarred by PETA ads at one point or another?) I have given up meat for Lent. Yes, yes, I know. We'll see how it goes. Anyways, Trader Joe's is going to be a lifesaver, I think -- I made some sort of chicken-less chicken barbecue, and it was actually pretty good. Well, it registered as 'mediocre real chicken' rather than "oh my Lord, what is this horrendous soy-based atrocity masquerading as a food product?!'. This is apparently a great success.
+ Went out with Jessi for lunch and taught her how to deal with chopsticks properly. What makes this infinitely hilarious is that she's Korean and I'm German, and I was the one teaching her. (To be fair, we're both totally American, but still.) The waiters, apparently, were stealthly LOL-ing the entire time.
+ Downloaded a free fractal-designing program. I know nothing about advanced mathmatics, but I'm just having fun inputting random things into the toolbar and seeing how the swirly pictures change. I keep making things that look like nebulas, and they're brightly-colored and glorious. Math has never looked so pretty.
+ Am 98% sure that I'm going to be ambushed for a semi-surprise unbirthday party in a few hours. *grins*
All in all, I'd say today's going pretty well.
Tell me about your Saturday, flist.
