Are you sure I'm an adult?
Wow...I haven't posted all month long! That's not for a lack of interesting things going on in my life. I've just been busy. And on twitter.
I'm now living in Texas, which is sort of weird to me. Out of all the places I thought I'd end up, I didn't think it would be here. But I have a job and the people at my work are super nice, so...what's not to like?
Well, the heat is pretty bad. But I can deal with that. I occasionally feel like an out of place idiot here, and not just at work. I feel like I'm pretending to be an adult while hoping no one else catches on. But I have survived over three weeks on my own, so I think that should count as something.
Today, I worked my first day on the floor...actually dealing with patients. It went fairly well, aside from feeling all tongue-tied half of the time. I put in a foley catheter, something I'd never done before. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it was. So I guess I do know more than I give myself credit for.
Confidence. I don't know why I struggle with it so much, but I do. Fortunately for me, I'm quite good at faking it until I make it. I'd just like to make it already.
