My grandmother passed away yesterday.

She had broken her hip, and was in a rehab clinic trying to heal and recover, but she kept having to go back to the hospital for tests and treatments because she kept getting infections. They had no idea why that kept happening, so they were apparently doing blood tests regularly. So, how is it that the next time she gets sent to the hospital with an infection and blood tests are taken, they go, "oh heeeeyy, it looks like she's got leukemia." And then 3 days later, she's gone.

That's pretty much how it went. I'm just kind of baffled that nobody caught the fact that her white blood cell count was apparently wildly abnormal, with all the blood tests they had been taking.

The whole thing was pretty unexpected. I guess she would never have even found out that she had leukemia at all if it weren't for the broken hip situation? I'm just glad that she's not suffering, and that the last time I saw her, she was in good spirits, which is the way I want to remember her.

RIP AMRC <3
