KITTTEHHHH!!!!!!!!

So I went to the cat lady's house (she's a serious cat lady, but a cat lady for good! she rescues feral cats and tames them and tries to find them homes.) I was there for two hours or so. She has a batch of kittens she rescued around christmas. There was only one she thought was social enough to go home with someone. She had named him Mozart, but I ( Read more... )

kittens are cute, but are often adopted because people want their cats young. older cats have a lot more trouble finding a good home, so you're doing a good deed when you adopt a full grown cat. the last three cats i've had i've rescued from the pound, and they were all over a year old. my wonderful cat ginger, he's 9 now and sitting on my lap, i rescued the day they tagged his cage. (which means they would have killed him the next day if i hadn't bought him)

as cute as kittens can be, i think it's better to adopt the cats no one else wants.

I think if he's really NOT adjusting to dog life/life with Dado, you should send him on to a better home for him, but otherwise, stick with teenage Grisha.

PS: I *will* continue to call him Mozart, because it's adorable. Possibly nicknamed Wolfy a la 'Amadeus', or Woferl a la actual WAM.

Mozart can be one of his middle names, ok? Grisha Mozart Cassius Osborne.

You can never have too many nicknames ;o)

Plus Woferl is an adorable nickname.

Hey, I agree with Grisha. Pants are scary.
Let's all avoid them in the future.

I'm against the idea of going back for a younger kitten, bc either way you do plan to end up with an adult cat, yes? So I vote for keeping him. I think cats are not like dogs, you can't pick them out, they pick you.

This was the kitty that was ready for a home when you were finally able to get yourself a cat (I'm so excited for you!!!), (I'm weird I know) but I think souls traffic together, so he is the right cat for you. This I think is the little guy you're supposed to have, and it also sounds like he's settling just fine (cats take months to get totally comfortable, and he's still plenty young enough to learn to boss the dogs around just fine). My cat didn't come out from under my bed for days at a time when I was around at first, and I couldn't pick her up for months (she was a half-feral too, but year or two old).

I can't wait for pictures of Grisha!! And did I mention that I'm happy for the two of you? This is awesome.
