Hey everyone hope you are all doing well:).

First thing, I send love, hugs and a bundle of thank you's to my most groovy friend, Marstokyo ! Mid-day today I opened not one, but two packages of wonderful gifties from her, including (but not limited to): Several cool cookbooks, A huge variety of Prismacolor colored pencils, some lovely hard pastels (the type which I usually did my underdrawings on my paintings in), some sweet soft pastels, several water color pans (oh, my , I shall be experimenting), 2 drawing journals (One of which I am worried about because it contains some very lovely drawings already), a much needed eraser and some paintbrushes and cool doodads (love the witchheads). I feel very wealthy, indeed, because of friends like you Sally, thank you very much.

Last night I had the most wonderful pleasure of meeting some lj friends who were referred by Poetbear to Gb, Carocrow and Mani! It was not only a pleasant dinner it was great! Kindred spirits so far from home made us all very very happy, indeed! I have a buddy in town now!! Yipee!! Not only a friend, but a wonderfully intelligent, artistic, thoughtful pair of pagan friends! We have so much in common and I so enjoyed their company, and look forward to getting together for tea and to do some artwork! I am blessed to have met them, they are everything I could hope for in new friends, I feel that there must be some deities out there looking out for us.

Though Katrina was a horrible event in our lives that has uprooted us, leaving us blowing in the wind. I guess I have a fateful view. Perhaps New Orleans was not the place we were supposed to be, it is doubtful I would have met Ro and Mani had we stayed in Chilly Gentilly. I had become too comfortable within my home/ neighborhood/society and did not really ask more of myself or sway from my regular habits. Opening up to new people and places is scary at first, but it is very rewarding. I hope that I can do the same thing artistically, while the storm aftermath causes us all to grow as people, my fondest dream is that I can grow from it artistically as well. To grow, learn, love and be loved...live in the moment and help others, that is what I so want for us all...how could I ask for anything more?

Today was a very busy, I managed, however, to avoid doing the nasty phone calls (those long term holds and re-routes get me exasperated), which I MUST make myself do first thing tomorrow. Instead, I did a quick grocery run, made rice pudding (I will type in the recipe in a bit), opened 2 packages from my friend Sally and danced about gleefully, made some Nestle Toll House Cookie Batter (haven't baked the cookies yet...probably will save that for tomorrow), made a pork loin and need to go steam some broccoli.

See you all in a bit with my grandmother's rice pudding recipe.
