Hello Friends
Just a quick note to say that we are fine. Hurricane Rita did manage to resubmerge our house in New Orleans and tear up the rest of the Louisiana coastline but was not too bad on us up in Natchitoches. We lost power last night but it was returned by 6pm today (only 15 hours as opposed to the 3+ weeks the power has been out in New Orleans thus far) , winds were only between 45-50. We had relatives who stayed in Lake Charles, who report over 100mph winds and loads of trees down, but their homes are not under water and they are doing well. Others who evacuated to Denim Springs are doing well with only a brief power outage and a few tree limbs down.
Louisiana no longer resembles a boot, it looks more like a muddy wet sock with a hole in the toe.
The most disgusting quote of the day goes to Barbara Bush; "What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."
What the HELL is wrong with that old biddy? Yeah, right, those people just love having their homes underwater, no jobs and having their loved ones dead or scattered to the four winds. Barbara Bush, you should be very ashamed of yourself, you hateful old battleaxe. And that is the mommy dearest of the imbecile running this country... have they no shame at all?
