Aw... Nice Customers
A lady who's been staying with us for a few weeks came down to my desk yesterday and told me that some friends had given her food, and she had no room in her tiny fridge. She put a bag up on the counter and told me to help myself. In it were unopened bags of corn, peas, and glazed carrots, two sealed boxes of pumpkin rolls, and a red velvet cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory.
That's right, a whole freakin' cheesecake.
Of course, I passed right over the vegetables and gazed at the cheesecake in wide-eyed awe, trying not to drool on the counter. I cut some slices for Nupur and her family, and also gave her the corn, the peas, and a box of rolls. I took home the carrots and the rest of the cake. Hubby and I will have dessert for a week! Well... maybe a day or two.
Edit, later: I got home and realized the cheesecake expired in August 2010. Sadly, I tossed it in the trash.
It's the thought that counts, I guess :-)
