Fandom: The Demon Ororon
Pairing: Shiro/Lika
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: R.
Warnings: Spoilers for the ending. Though, it’s intentionally left a bit ambiguous, because so was the manga on what exactly happened to them. >.>;;;
#01 - Comfort
It was a small comfort, Lika thought, that at least her best friend was just as stupid and damned as she was.
#02 - Kiss
No matter what else he did to her in bed, she refused to ever let him kiss her, terrified that his tongue would be cat-like and abrasive in her mouth, violating and chasing her own humanity even farther away.
#03 - Soft
He stifled a groan at the first feel of her bare skin on his - who knew that anything about her could ever be soft, after all?
#04 - Pain
They both knew that she wanted to hurt him, everyone knew that she wanted to hurt him, but what Lika didn’t know was that nothing else was quite as painful as her speaking of Othello with that look in her eyes.
#05 - Potatoes
“You are disgusting,” she informed him coldly as she watched him shovel potatoes into his mouth as though he’d never even seen food before; and she was even more revolted by herself, and the fact she knew that she’d still let him into her bed anyway.
#06 - Rain
He’s almost…pretty…like this…fuzzy, fading, like I’m looking at him through the rain…and I can hear it drip…but I wonder why this rain is so warm?
#07 - Chocolate
She had a weakness for chocolate, which made him leer and offer to lick it off of her instead, and she merely retorted that that was a wonderful idea; wasn’t chocolate poisonous to cats?
#08 - Happiness
“Oh, I don’t think it has anything to do with you,” Chiaki told him cheerfully, “Lika-chan just isn’t a happy sort of person!”
#09 - Telephone
She would have called the cops on them all that first night (she didn’t give a damn what Chiaki said, not when her best friend was so clearly delusional), but when she went to try she discovered that he had chewed the phone cord to bits.
#10 - Ears
“You’re the one with the goddamn cat ears, so stop treating me like I’m your fucking pet!”
#11 - Name
“I don’t care what your name is,” she shrilled, “I just want to know what in fuck you are!”
#12 - Sensual
He hadn’t expected anything about it to be sensual (and mostly it wasn’t, hard and rough and wild and almost disturbingly reminiscent of their own personalities), but he’d been stunned at the noises she made, sounding soft and desperate beneath him even as his blood collected under her nails.
#13 - Death
We fucking deserved better than this, but I guess I should at least be grateful that we’re not just dying by each others’ hands.
#14 - Sex
“That’s all this is,” she whispered, voice deep and breathy and belying in his ear, “sex, just sex, nothing more.”
#15 - Touch
If Shiro hadn’t known better, he would have thought Chiaki fell out of that chair on purpose, just to break the tension as his fingers brushed (ohsonaturally) against her best friend’s skin.
#16 - Weakness
Chiaki was falling apart, the whole damned world was falling apart, and so someone had to stay strong and obviously it had to be her - which meant that every time she let him lay a hand on her, she was risking so much more than just her heart.
#17 - Tears
The sheets were torn, his back was in no better condition, and he was still grinning like the cat that had eaten the canary.
#18 - Speed
When he had seen the blade go crashing into her side, when he had seen the blank and broken look in her eyes as she crumpled to the ground, he had never made a faster decision in his life and suddenly the only thing that mattered was Vengeance, now.
#19 - Wind
He wished that at least he didn’t have to be downwind of her now, if nothing else, because the stench of her blood was filling his nostrils and he no longer even had the strength to vomit or to cry.
#20 - Freedom
I’ve just been dragged into a whole new world that I’m fairly certain I will never get myself out of, and the one thing that makes me feel free is the one thing I can’t trust for guidance.
#21 - Life
At first she hated Ororon for having brought him back to life, and then, abruptly, she was hating Ororon for not being alive himself so that he could do it a second time.
#22 - Jealousy
You may love him, you stupid bitch, but is he the one here standing and ready to die at your side?
#23 - Hands
If he could have wished for anything, there at the end, he would’ve wished to just be lying next to her and holding onto her hand.
#24 - Taste
“I remember the first time you met me, you wanted to fucking eat me,” she said, voice somewhere between a purr and a dangerous growl, “so what exactly do you want to do to me now?”
#25 - Devotion
If the only way to prove his devotion was dying alongside her, then so be it - it didn’t matter if she caught on too late, so long as she understood.
#26 - Forever
“Well, if that’s how you want it,” he said, and he grinned, “I guess it’s just as well that I’ve always preferred to live in the present.”
#27 - Blood
He’d seen horrible things, he’d done horrible things; but somehow, nothing was as real as watching her fall.
#28 - Sickness
Whenever she spat, “I don’t know whether this is more sacrilegious or bestiality,” he would simply laugh, ignore her mutinous glares, and call her his kinky little minx.
#29 - Melody
Sappy love songs weren’t their style, and nothing quite suited them except for the ripscratch of nails over skin and soft hissings of breath, but it was their own rhythm and they settled into it just as well.
#30 - Star
She lay on her back, forcing herself to look only at the stars shining in through the window, and she thought, There’s no way I could ever wish myself out of this now.
#31 - Home
“Well, it’s not as though either of us could ever bring the other home to meet the parents,” he quipped, and despite herself, she laughed.
#32 - Confusion
His fingertips brushed against the cut on her chest, and he knew he hadn’t imagined that single look of curious acceptance on her face before the accustomed rage set in - and neither of them had the slightest idea of what to do.
#33 - Fear
You can’t believe we’re doing this, but it’s okay, it’s okay, we’re doing this, together, and you know that we are both fucking badasses.
#34 - Lightning/Thunder
“So if we’re actually doing this,” he murmured, lips dragging across her skin and teeth biting every time he thought her distracted enough to not hit him for it, “why in the hell is it not a dark and stormy night?”
#35 - Bonds
She watched Chiaki’s stupid, insane, desperate bond with Ororon, and she wondered if she’d really done any better for herself.
#36 - Market
“State the obvious time: We would utterly fail at domesticity,” Lika muttered to herself, watching Shiro flounce around the store and randomly attempt to stuff candy bars inside his hat.
#37 - Technology
He broke damn near everything he touched (roughly half of Chiaki’s electronics were listed as casualties); was it any wonder that Lika shied away?
#38 - Gift
“Of course I could never actually date you;” she snapped, colour rising high in her cheeks and derision flashing in her eyes, “your idea of a romantic gift is probably bringing me dead birds, right?”
#39 - Smile
She smiled in her sleep, lying open and unguarded next to him, and even if she never stayed the night, perhaps that alone would be enough.
#40 - Innocence
He’d been her first, and she knew she would never forgive him for that, but she’d also been unable to deny the truth of the words he hissed into her ear - “There’s a war starting; what the hell do you think you need innocence for?”
#41 - Completion
Rather than try and complete each other, they simply tried to tear one another apart, scratches torn down his back complimenting her toothmarked shoulders.
#42 - Clouds
The fog clouded his vision just as the bastard who conjured it was clouding her heart, and the blind desperation was sudden and wildly overwhelming.
#43 - Sky
Every time he grabbed her roughly in his arms and began to skywalk, her heart would jump, tripping frantically out of her control, and she told herself firmly that she must have a fear of heights.
#44 - Heaven
“Heaven ain’t all it’s cracked up to be,” he told her quietly, “and I think I’d rather just have you.”
#45 - Hell
“I must be beyond desperate if I’m fucking creatures from hell,” she muttered sullenly to herself, then bit at her lip as she realised he’d just retort that fucking bitchy humans was no better.
#46 - Sun
She was always gone before the sun rose, as if she thought that his waking to cold sheets would erase the memories of the night before.
#47 - Moon
Moonlight made her softer, rounded her scowls into throes of ecstasy, but nothing could disguise the way she tore at him, as if she either wanted to kill him or mark him permanently as hers.
#48 - Waves
She wanted to yell, she wanted to hit him until he understood - This is too much for me, you bastard; you’re like a goddamn undertow and you’ll just drag me along until I drown.
#49 - Hair
When her hands fisted into his hair, clutching desperately as she squirmed beneath him, and she was too distracted to even notice the cat ears, he could have crowed in smug triumph.
#50 - Supernova
If this is all I can do for you, then baby, we’re going out with a bang.
