What Was I Made For...
Summary: Post 1x20 after Liz confront Red about killing Sam. What if she'd been allowed time to process the death of her father? Let's get to know Aunt June because Liz HAD FAMILY. What if Liz had found something curious while packing up Sam's house? Canon compliant for the beginning, divergent by the end. Brief spoilers. I had to keep reminding myself of what she doesn't know yet because I haven't done S1 before. 😅
A/N: This was meant to be a one shot and it ran away. I didn't really feel that I could end it any other way than I have in order to honour the greiving process. Now let's not get uppity about Red's motives here. This is mostly Liz's perspective and while I think he had valid motives (I am pro euthanasia, just not in this way), he still took Sam away from her before she could say goodbye or really understand the seriousness of his illness. Sam was Liz's only parent and the only one that she remembered having.
