A short update

Well, well... I don't know how long it's been since i last posted. Not that it was a loss as long as my journal is concerned. Still, to carry on the tradition of keeping a journal, here are a few things that happened.

I'm currently back at my parent's home for the holiday. I still prefer to call it my home too. I love this cold city, with a weather dry and chilly, the wind cutting your ears and nose if you dare to expose them. My flat in Smith (remember; Smith is the code-name for the city i moved.) doesn't feel like home. And it's not about the lack of furniture. I wake up at 6.10 am, go out at 7.10 am. Come back about 12 hours later. Stay up in front of my laptop with tea next to me for about 3 or 4 hours. Then go to sleep. See, the time i spent awake in that flat is restricted to articles, whatever presentations that need to be done, or -if i'm lucky- to anime and/or pre-saved fics. Which brings me to another point.

I still don't have internet access and it's starting to get to me. I had to wait two weeks for someone to come and link me up to phone service, which is what was required for a DSL connection. Just before i left i got a modem and was hoping to set it up. No luck there too, obviously someone clever thought it would be fun not to include an USB cable in the pack and leave it "optional". Since life stops in Smith after 7pm and shops except for pubs and night clubs close everywhere, i was one cable away from internet. Swearing at that too, i left Smith for home here.

I won't be telling about the patients i've seen. No need to get anyone depressed. I hope i'm doing some good to them in their hard times and provide some relief, however small that may be. Some thank, some don't and some hate us. *shrug*

Also, after a week with diarrhea and now with a sore throat and a runny nose, i'm trying to enjoy the holiday as much as i can. On the bus home i asked the attendant for some tissues. I must have looked miserable, because he came back with a pack half full with tissues (about 50 of them considering it said "100 tissue-eco pack" on it) and the rest of it stacked with wet tissues too. I got the message alright.

I'm sore all over. Still though, i aim to enjoy this holiday and the quality time with my caring mum.
