Christmas marks the first anniversary of being single. I use the term anniversary loosely. Being single, as I have said time and time again, is NOT great. Especially not in this holiday season when everybody is loved up and mushy. Yuck.
Come holiday season(s - here, as there are many many), just as my horoscoping sign the crab would do, I would run back wayyyyyy back into my shell and hide (at least within my comfort zone).
Thing is, being single has its perks. My comfort zone (friends) are mostly guys, and when I do hang out with my girls, its always going clubbing or doing something to that effect. Which, unfortunately, most guys here, would not accept. A lot of guys here, won't even accept the person that I am because I am just so not like the other girls, especially of my own race, as I am neither demure nor am I not unintelligent that I don't have my own mind.
Sure, experiment all they want with me, but it'll never get anywhere, hence I don't even try anymore. That must be bad right...?
Which makes me think... somehow, I wouldn't want to have it any other way. Especially with the guys here. Somehow, all the people I encounter here are all substandard and not really up to what I am looking for in a man. Coming out of a 4 yr relationship has made me aware of what I want and don't want in a man. But also, because of that 4 yr relationship, makes my standards in a man too high that sometimes, I think that it is unattainable and impossible, hence me leaving this world an old spinster.
Hmm. As you can see, I am oh-too-happy to be back to work on Boxing Day. Huzzah!
*puke*
This restless soul wants to be anywhere but here.
