This is an untitled poem I probably wrote on November 25th of 2009. I thought about it today, & then the mirror in my room shattered, so I thought I'd read it again. I still like it, although I added a line & changed a phrase.

-------

My lover that I cannot love; his hair is the thunder I hear in the distance; his eyes are the blue marbles I lost in a game of dice; his hands are the quicksand I purposely stepped into; his legs are the ladder I cannot climb but stood underneath; his mouth is the mirror that spoke to me and with fear in my heart I shattered it; his teeth are the jagged pieces that brought me 7 years' bad luck; his chest is the traffic light that beams endless red; his back is the end to the novel I couldn't finish; his lips are the locked door for which I have no key; his arms are the black cat waltzing across my path. My love is a cigarette extinguished.
