Aang wanted us to keep it, so I will until we figure out where it belongs.

[Zuko pauses to mess with the device, and changes the conversation to private.]

They call this world The Land of Dragons, so we thought maybe it could be a dragon egg. If it is, we definitely can't abandon it. [Or, you know. Eat it.] For now, all we can do is wait and see if it'll hatch.

I know it sounds crazy, but just hear me out. A hundred years ago, the people of the Fire Nation revered dragons. My great-grandfather even had one for a companion. [Both great-grandfathers, even. ...Until one of them started killing them all.] Dragons are powerful, but they're not bloodthirsty killers. They can coexist with people just like Aang and his bison.

Besides, I just feel like I should do this. It's my family's fault the dragons in our world are nearly extinct, so it's my responsibility to fix things.
