[Zuko looks over his shoulder.] Not so loud! We don't know for sure what it is. [Then he checks his communicator is definitely off. Even if dragons aren't an endangered species on this world, they were sworn to secrecy about them, and he doesn't want to take the risk of other people learning about it.]

Whatever it is, we should at least look for a nest or something first. Maybe it's just separated from the rest.

[Zuko doesn't reply. The Fire Nation was once renowned for its dragons too... and then look what happened. He doesn't want to take that risk.]

One of us should stay here and guard the egg. If we leave it alone, someone else might find it and take it. [Or worse yet, the Heartless might carry it off.]

[Hopefully Aang won't run into anything big, scaly and angry on his travels. After tethering his horse, Zuko sits down to wait for Aang beside the egg. This close to it, though, it almost feels like it gives off its own heat -- faint but present. No wonder the snow around it melted.

He creates a medium-sized flame in his hands and holds it there, both to keep himself and the egg warm. It might not be snowing up here any more, but it's still bitterly cold.]

It won't die if we take care of it, right? [Not that Zuko knows a lot about eggs, especially not mysterious ones like this, but...] Then if it belongs to anyone, we can give it back.

[And what if it grows into something big and vicious that will try to eat them? Aang's expression makes it hard to make that argument, though.]

Okay, okay, I get it. You can stop making that face. It's not like I'd just abandon it. [Zuko lets the flame in his hands die out. Then he pulls off his travel cloak and wraps the egg carefully in it. Sure enough, the egg itself is weirdly warm to the touch, giving off heat. Once it's wrapped up from the mountain cold, he picks up the bundle.] We'll take it to Destiny Islands and keep it safe there.

Will you quit saying that? [It's even worse than Sokka's made-up catchphrases. Zuko untethers his horse and climbs into the saddle, making sure the egg is secure and close enough that it can stay warm from Zuko's own body heat. He glances up at the sky, then back at Aang.] Let's just get moving -- it's starting to snow again.
