I need Feedback!

People! I need Feedback!
I'm trying to make something out of all the writing that I've been doing at stusik-i-sharik... Something that might help us financially with continuing our trip. I would like to apply to some small e-magazines first, and maybe even publish/e-publish a b... boo.. b... I can't say the word. I'm a little embarrassed right now as you can see ( Read more... )

+ humor and and an easy way of looking at things
+ a clear and identifiable writing voice that's very much your own
+ a good mix of travel notes (e.g. 'we went there because we got stuck elsewhere') and snippets about the history of the places you visit, the atmosphere, the pictures, etc.

- relatively little of the "human interest" kind of notes -- few stories that you undoubtedly hear from people you meet in your travels. I'd like to see more of it, but that may be just a personal preference, not so much a comment about the writing
-- relatively little analysis (e.g. "here's the trend we are seeing...") and cross-reference to previous events/episodes. That's perfectly fine in a blog, where the readers' attention span isn't that long anyway, but would be a fairly big detriment in a book, in my opinion.

basically, the last point to me is what separates the blog from the book. In a book I'd expect to see the "development" of either ideas or events or personalities. Perhaps that can be drawn from your personal growth -- how your own opinions change, how your goals change because of what you see and experience, etc.

Excellent :) Will be keeping all this in mind.
If I was to write a book I would have it "develop" together with us progressing in the trip and developing as both people and travelers. As for "human interest" I can only hope that travel adventures are interesting enough... :)

Oh and analysis... I tend to be a little.. ghm.. ghm.. judgmental (I'm told) when I analyze. Not sure how to deal with that... :)
