Grilling Day: Aftermath

May 31, 2005 11:21

I'm making my first journal entry using a Mac, but more on that later.

For leftovers, I have 3 ribeye steaks, my favorite type of steak I think, and no grill on which to cook them. I believe there is an episode of "The Twilight Zone" that expresses my current situation. I'd consider the day a success, despite running out of steak for round two and having to rush to the store, then spending an insane amount of money because only nice ribeyes were left(So good, and yet so pricey). In addition to watching the Sox winning, we watched a cold-war era "zombie" movie. Funny, sort of, but if it had been any longer I might have died from an overdose of the late 50's. I fully plan on doing something similar next year. With a little more planning, and hopefully more people. Grilling Day has always been there, but never before has it had a champion and patron such as myself.

No, I haven't bought a Mac, nor will I ever unless the situation changes in drastic ways. I was just hoping to surprise some of you. Actually, I'm writing this from work. Most of my time in the lab is spent on the iMac now. It's helping me to find out that most of my previous opinions of apple computers were correct. They are built for non-technical folks with no desire to use a computer for anything more complex than text or image processing. Heaven forbid you try to use extra hardware like flash memory or a scanner(In all fairness the scanners in this lab are terrible).

Now that Grilling Day has passed, I'm going to focus on more summer activities. I've talked about a camping trip with a few people. It would be nice to put one together this year, we've had some great times in the past. With me as the driving force however, it's anyone's guess as to how this will pan out.

P.S.
If anyone knows of a method to prepare ribeyes with only an electric stove and a toaster oven please let me know ASAP
