1. Name: Natalie
2. Age: 23
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? I can’t choose just one place :). I have wander lust, so I want to try a bunch of different places out-although I’ll probably settle back in my hometown, Seattle, after I go through my bout of world exploration. I love Seattle.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? It would have relics from around the world, lots of books and easy access to good music. I can image an Asian inspired room with floor pillows, incense and candles, bright colors and a large bookshelf. I would like a CD player too with a large CD collection, but that might not work at Hogwarts…
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? Personality-wise? Peter Pettigrew. I still wonder what qualified him for Gryffindor. I can’t imagine what would motivate someone so far as to put his friends’ lives in danger.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full? Half full. I’ve tried to be pessimistic, but it doesn’t work for me. I was optimistic even when I went through my cynical phase.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality. “Listen; there's a hell of a good universe next door: let's go.” --E. E. Cummings
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? Family. Although, I love my friends dearly and would do almost anything for them. I’ve come to realize, as I’ve progressed in my twenties, that I need to put my family first because I naturally put my friends first.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory? This is a tough one. I have to say when I was 4 and I portrayed Little Miss Muffet in my preschool’s play. I had never practiced my part with the actual spider, so when came time for the performance I was rather startled to see the big plastic thing dangling over my head. I flipped out, ran off the stage and went straight to my Dad’s lap. This action earned me an article in the local paper titled “The Real Thing”. Apparently, the reporter thought I was a) a very good actress or b) just very cute. At any rate, the newspaper article along with a picture of me and my scared face still circulates around my family as one of those “famous and amusing” family stories.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I care too much about what other people think about me. This results in some rather unsavory actions such as passive-aggressive anger, wasting money on cosmetics and generally trying too hard around other people-even if I don’t like the other person.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? Yes. I would be against Umbridge and would want to be part of something that defied her. Plus, I would enjoy the thrill of defying her under her nose.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I get very energetic and worried and try to do everything at once. Sometimes, I get annoyed and give up. But, most of the time I complete what I need to while throwing intermediate tantrums (Internal or external depends on the situation. I do have tact).
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? Compassion. I’m an empathetic person so compassion always wins. Also, I heavily support and value those who work for the relief of sufferers (I admire Mother Theresa above anyone else). I think it’s harder, but more valuable, to care for everyone.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? An old soul. I’ve always been told I’m mature for my age. I will always appreciate the child at heart, though, because that sort of innocence is very beautiful.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? Gryffindor. I’ve flirted with the idea of Ravenclaw because I like to learn a lot, but I’m really too sloth-like to pull that off. Plus, I’m loyal to my friends and like living life as adventures. This seems Gryffindor-ish to me.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
I’m the girl--the boy is my best friend. We went on a hike and we’re both very tired and sweaty in this picture.
